Kane Belcher is 6'8" is a good ball handler, shooter, scorer, and even a better passer. That sounds like potential to me.

I just never realized that for $400 you could get ranked by Bolus, the Hoopscoop, named to the All Area team, named MVP at 2 camps, and named as an Honorable Mention All American by Street and Smith. :ylsuper:

 

You'd be surprised what money can buy you when it comes to acolades. Lot's of vampires out there. The $400 would give you Bolus backing and the Hoopscoop thing, not the rest. But, more money could. I've seen it work this way before.

 

And let me make one thing clear, my response is strictly based on what money COULD do for a player. I've hardly seen the Euton kid play, so this wasn't a knock on where he stands in any rankings.

Bottom line the rankings of players mentioned in this post mean nothing today. The opinions of 8th graders becoming D-1 stars means nothing.

 

What counts is the kids have an entire High School career ahead of them to prove what they can do on the court.

 

I certainly hope Kentucky produces more D-1 stars.

 

I have been around the AAU ball for several years and have seen the Euton kid play as well as the others. I just think it is premature to label kids this early in their careers.

 

Was Micheal Jordan labeled a D-1 star as an 8th grader. I think the story goes that he was cut from the high school team as a freshman or sophomore.

 

Did this Bolus guy or whoever his counterpart may have been in Jordan's neck of the woods have him ranked as an 8th or 9th grader?

I can agree to an extent. There is no such thing as a sure fire freshman. I do think that college coaches are identifying kids at a much earlier age.

 

Rankings are just opinions. I think both Euton and Jackson have earned their way onto Bolus's list as well as others. They have accomplished alot and to have an adult try and discredit their acheivment for whatever reason is what bothers me.

Dont really agree with that statement. If your good enough you will be seen. Do you really think all those kids that get invited to the ABCD, Nike and Reebok camps have families that are financialy set? There are lots of kids out there that come from poor families that play AAU ball and get seen all around the nation. Bottom line is if you are good enough money wont be the reason why you dont get to play and be seen.

I can attest to your comments. I work wiht a girl who has a 5th grade AAU baller and she tells me all the time that she knows other kids on that level who are being offered Addidas gear, socks, balls, etc and given free invitations to attend camps in Cleveland, Maryland, etc..... If you can get spotted in REgional tournaments or tri state events and you are that talented.... you will get noticed and invited to the big time camps.

I havent seen these two kids play but just from following them on BGP over the past couple years.... I would say they are probably a couple of the best in their class , especially in KY.

I was told by a very reliable source today that he may commit before the season starts to take the pressure off and the school in the lead right now is probably a D1 Catholic institution in the northern region of Indiana.

 

Whomever gets Ty will not only be getting a top notch ball player, but a fine young man as well.

I think college coaches who spend their time ID'ing 8th & 9th graders to recruit; will ultimately end up with a good high school or church league job somewhere!!

In My Opinion, if you think that Jackson and Euton are not that good then that's ok, your wrong but what else is new. It is the tone of your post that reek of jealousy and bitterness that are disturbing. Whether you realize it or not, and I don't doubt for 1 second you don't, you have done everything possible to discredit the accomplishment of two 15 year old kids. I believe that due to the absolute absurdity of your post all you have done is decrease your credibility and increase the awareness level of both Dakotah and Chad. Yep and skinny as a rail. Lots of potential , half these kids on this thread are already getting ready to sign D1 or so all these poeple say.. Has Hurricane got Tubby and whats ma callit from florida watching his games also. Ole Billy ? This thread is something else. LOL!!! 13 and 14 year old being actively looked at by Major D1 programs. im sure Belcher rates right up there with the rest of these kids.

 

The rest of these guys are touting thier players, you have that right also.

Ole Hurricane is a fine player, we will see how he does this year, but serously doubt all that potentail will land him a d1 contract. He will make a nice Div 2 guy or NAIA player and Ive watched him play alot of games. He is also a great kid. I just wouldnt get caught up into all this D-1 hype that is on this thread:bunny: Just being realistic.:bunny:
