Kentucky 45 Central Michigan 36

Featured Replies

I am in no way trying to pump up Central Michigan, but a team of that quality would have beaten UK the past few years. Shows UK still has a ways to go, but steps are being made in the right direction.

I don't know why anyone is complaining. UK won!!! This is a game UK would have lost last season, just like the Ole Miss game. They got a GREAT shot at making a bowl this season, quit whining!

I agree. At many points during the game last night, I found myself thinking that if this were years past, UK would find a way to lose. But I knew the whole second half that the Cats were going to hold CMU off. Right direction for the Cats. However the 3rd Down defense MUST be improved. That's the only bone I have to pick.

I was very happy with a win and just pointing out the fact that our defense stinks to high heaven. I don't think anyone can deny that. GO CATS!

As for improvement, I still go back to Fla at the Swamp. Last year at Commonwealth we were routed. This year, and at the Swamp, we were very respectable for the game and a very real threat the first half. I am happy with the football cats for the first time in a long time. I got hooked at birth so I am with them whether they win or lose.

I listen to the wlap sports show this morning and the one thing that came up more than UK winning the game was how bad the Defense was! So Im not the only who forgot the fact that they Won!

Then I will rephrase my answer! You and all the other callers that complained about the defense forgot that they won. Everybody complained about the Cats needing a win and when they do, they complain about how they got it. I will take a win anyday no matter how ugly it is. I do agree with your comments in other post, the D needs some work, and quick.

Good game for David Jones of Belfry. Played nearly entire first half and had a key catch on their first scoring drive.

Most importantly sprang free both Keenan Burton and Raf Little on their screen pass touchdowns with excellent blocks. He also recorded four or five tackles in special teams.

As the good folks say, "A win is a win is a win."

As what you want about CMU, they were a quality opponent. UK won against a team that played BC until the end of the fourth quarter and UM until the mid-fourth quarter.

Wildcats win against a team that could have easily beat them on Saturday, I'll take it.

Congrats to UK.

Still, the question remains, when will Brooks say enough is enough with the pitiful defensive scheme provided by Mike Archer?

Any win over a MAC school is a good one. Those teams just flat out put up points! KY is taking care of business. The Vandy game scares me a little but I also think they could pull of an upset against UT or GA. They have both been played tough by teams that shouldn't play them tough.

South Carolina would be a HUGE HUGE win!

Last season the Cats D, and O stunk. At least they have a good O this year. It is good enough to win them some games too.

One big difference is the defense. Yes they are giving up yardage and points, but have far more turnovers this year than last year at this point.

That is huge. Winning the turnover battle...you can bend and not break ala the Florida game, but if you are getting turnovers, you can live with it.

Looks like the Bengals defense of last year. Giving up yardage, bending not breaking, and making plays.

I was not busting on him or the team for that matter. I gave my opinion on this team.

Central Michigan by everyone standards is not a good team and to beat them by such a narrow margin to see shows in this case Kentucky is not that good.

Central Michigan is not a bad team they took Boston College to the wire and hanged with Michigan for three quarters that is saying something.
