When the All A Classic became a statewide tournament in 1989, the KHSAA enrollment cutoff at the time for Class A football was 425 students in the top three grades. The All A Classic adopted that standard and has left it unchanged.

This list is far from right. Brossart is the clear cut favorite and that is no doubt. Augusta is #2, Bracken #3, St. Pat #4 and Silver Grove #5. The rest doesnt matter.

Trigg County is out of all "A" over enrollment #'s

 

1. UHA, again! Lost 5 starters but reload

2. Ft. Campbell--Rodney Rogers returns but lost Micah Johnson

3. Webster County--lost Rollins and Hust, just under enrollment limit, next year they absorb Providence Ind. and will probably exit all "A" status

4. Crittenden County--return the Courtney bros.

5. Livingston Central--Jimmy Croft former Crittenden Coach takes over

6. Dawson Springs--lost Derek Scott a honorable mention all state and 4 other seniors

7. Providence--last dance for the Bulldogs, they are scheduled to be absorbed into the Webster County system next year-they won the 7th district tourney 2 years ago beating Hopkins Central by 32 in the final but they do return Labrice Williams

8. Lyon County--return a young team that were win-less last season...they won't be win-less this season but will struggle some

I'd say this is pretty close, but Bracken and the Grove are even IMO, I couldn't really decide on which should be two or three.:thumb:

I thought they had. I heard about the 6' 10" player. I do know that Scotty Hopson is a fantastic athlete with a soft and smooth shooting stroke. They will be favored, as I said, again!

I agree with this ranking, not that my opinion matters. Only change would be maybe Augusta over St. Pat as the season progresses. Bracken is better with Fite coaching than with Hammonds.

In Region 1 ...

 

1. St. Mary ... already has a big injury to deal with in point guard Jonathan Byrd, out until Christmas after tearing his ACL this summer.

 

2. Mayfield ... if point guard Demetrek Moss is back with them (looks like he won't be), they could win the whole thing and the regional title.

 

3. Fulton County ... good talent, lots of athleticism, big-time chemistry issues.

 

4. Heath ... good size inside (6-8 and 6-5) and a good shooter, but point guard questions.

 

5. Reidland ... needs to develop some guys to go around star Mario Johnson.

 

 

I agree with the top four...as you could re-arrange those four depending on injuries and as you stated chemistry...should be fun this year...especially with the Heath Pirates back in the all a standing this year after being out last year due to being over the limit on enrollment. Should be a fun tournament at Graves County's Eagles Nest again this year.

 

Westsider...any word on whether or not the Cochran kid will play basketball this year or will he sit out again to concentrate on golf as he did last year.
