I am not an expert whatsoever when it comes to the military, nor am I an expert on transgender people, but is it possible that the reason that they are no longer accepted in the military is because they are medically reliant? Isn't that the reason that a person with asthma or any other medical issue is rejected during enlistment?

Also, what exactly about transgenderism is distracting? I've been meaning to ask that. What specifically causes these supposed distractions?

For those of us who grew up and still believe there are 2 genders, which course science and biology say there 2, there is an uncomfortable feeling about individuals that wish to refute science and biology. In the everyday world, which most of us live in, we can separate ourselves from these individuals. In the military there is a need for the utmost trust with those that you serve with to help you attain victory and keep you alive. I believe many feel that these individuals trust level is low. After all, these individuals want to change in away that is abnormal to science, biology and for me, morally wrong.

I would trust a transgender person who genuinely was there to protect and serve before I would trust someone I know judge me by their own set of standards. If you don't think I am worthy of serving with you, why would I trust you to have my back?

I would think you'd have to know any person pretty well in order to put your life in their hands. The assumption that a transgender person is not to be trusted or not capable of defending someone's life is, just that an assumption. Not based on anything other than opinion rooted in lack of knowledge and understanding of that person. Like others have mentioned the same things were said about blacks and women not all that long ago.

That has nothing to do with someone's ability to serve and protect your life in a war situation. Plenty of bad soldiers who are "the way God made them". And the comparison to minorities and women is applicable. Many of the arguments against them were based on religion and the belief that they were "inferior" beings.
