June 24, 20179 yr I still don't understand why they're closibg the exit from 75 SB to Erlanger. But ues Dixie will be a mess once again. Probably why they just repaved it 2 weeks ago. Apparently it is being closed throughout the project to help with the flow of traffic. Maybe it's them admitting a crappy design at that location.

I finally got an answer and essentially you are correct. They acknowledged that it can be an aggressive area and are shutting it down to avoid confliction.
June 24, 20179 yr I am out of town but have heard 275 was just terrible today. It's going to be a long 2 months
June 24, 20179 yr Is there a traffic back up if your traveling #27 thru Cold Spring and heading to a Reds game or the Newport Aquarium?
June 25, 20179 yr I pity the folks that have to use I-75, especially the folks that have no clue what they are about to drive into.
June 25, 20179 yr Is there a traffic back up if your traveling #27 thru Cold Spring and heading to a Reds game or the Newport Aquarium? 27 probably will be alright. Gonna be awful once you hit 471 during morning and afternoon rush hour. Today was smooth sailing and I was on 27/471 at 930am, 130pm and 330pm

Today was smooth sailing and I was on 27/471 at 930am, 130pm and 330pm Whats the alternative route to going to a Reds game or even to the Levee? I come from Mason County and always take #27 and then zip straight on down to the exit to the Levee/Aquarium. Is it just a matter of timing and that route is okay as long as you avoid the morning and afternoon rush hours?
June 25, 20179 yr Dreading traffic on 275 to 471 after work during all this. It's already slowed down half the time anymore without this. Going to be a zoo.

Is it just a matter of timing and that route is okay as long as you avoid the morning and afternoon rush hours? If 471 is backed up, you can stay on 27 all the way down to the Levee. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people decide to take 27 as well though. There's also route 9 to and through Newport, again don't be surprised if people decide to take that route as well. If not rush hour, those routes might not be as bad, we'll have to wait to see how much and how long daily this screws up other routes.
June 25, 20179 yr Is there a traffic back up if your traveling #27 thru Cold Spring and heading to a Reds game or the Newport Aquarium? No issues yesterday. Traffic smooth over the Big Mac bridge and over to 75 from that direction. Went to the Greek festival and no traffic issues at all. This was about 5:00 going there and 8:30 coming back.

June 25, 20179 yr I'd say you are absolutely correct. 275 to 471 was backed up yesterday around 2:30. I'm going to lose my mind over the next couple weeks. Really hoping changing my work hours will be an option at my place of employment. I'm expecting stand still traffic at 4:00. :rage:
June 25, 20179 yr Monday thru Friday will not be good at 5:00. Thank God I'm home by 3:15-3:30 most days. I'd lose my mind if I had to sit in traffic for a normal 15 minute commute home.
