I'm pretty sure I remember hearing before last years game, that this Watterson school has beaten Columbus DeSales (the team that beat HHS) something like 8 years in a row.

Last year, both Columbus schools put a beatdown on the NKY schools, hopefully the Colonels can steal one this year.

Having to ride a bus for over two hours will give CovCath all the advantage they need this week to beat Columbus Watterson. The coaching staff I am sure has not let up this week on the team about how Watterson literally creamed them last year. Pay back time Colonels.....

Watterson is use to traveling so I can't see this as a disadvantage for them.

Columbus St Francis DeSales 2006

8/25 H Toledo St Francis DeSales (1-4) [2:6] W 24-21

9/1 A Toledo St John's Jesuit (4-1) [1:2] W 34-10

9/8 A Westerville North (1-4) [1:3] W 53-19

9/15 A New Albany (4-1) [3:12] W 35-14

9/22 H Highlands (KY) (3-3) [3:0] W 30-25

9/29 H St Charles (5-0) [2:7]

10/6 A Bishop Watterson (4-1) [2:7]

10/13 A Hughes Center (3-2) [1:4]

10/20 H La Salle (3-2) [1:4]

10/28 A Benedictine (0-5) [3:9]

Watterson will play the entire game in one night unlike Cicny St. X. I also do not beileve the weather will be as big as a factor in this one.

Time will tell if I am correct on this prediction if I am proven wrong I will man up an say as much.

I think Watterson is better this season then last though that is from what I have read and talk I have heard.

:thumb: From all that I have seen and heard, I think the same thing.

For the CovCath fans:

How is the team doing, injury wise? Is the grind of such a tough schedule wearing on the roster in some spots? If I recall correctly, you guys were a little banged up last year going into this game.

A personal observation. For all the hype and hooplah of Rodenburg's spread offense coming to Park Hills, I haven't been overly impressed. What I have been impressed by is the DEFENSE that Coach R and his staff have implemented. IMO, if the offense can ever score 21 pts a game, CovCath would be scary good.

My prediciton:

Watterson 17

CovCath(continuing their average) 3

The spread offense is not the problem. The problem is the receivers holding onto the ball. Whenever you have at least 17 dropped balls it's not going to look good. Maybe they can put some glue on their hands......:walk:

I saw the Beechwood game and there were quite a few drops. However, I also saw some other games and drops were not the sole issue. Timing. QB/Receiver being on the same page. Time to pass. IMO, those are a bigger issue than drops.

I agree. Receivers changing the routes in the middle of the play, line not holding blocks long enough even for the running backs. QB underthrowing and overthrowing (could be routes not being ran correctly, QB being rushed or just not throwing accurately). Kids complaining QB throws too hard. When QB gets air under it, its being intercepted. QB doesn't set feet at times.

We could go on and on. All I know is that there is an overabundance of issues that need to be fixed quick or it may be a short year for a very talented CCH team.

Unfortunately, I'm confident that CC will get it worked out by the Highlands game.

Go Colonels; beat Watterson!

The only two injuries (unless I am missing some) are starting RB Brent Buckley and starting OLB Pat Van Sant.

How long is VanSant out?

I believe somewhere between 2-4 weeks.

Where are you getting your information from? How many games have you been to?
