I used to be a wal mart running shoe guy, but over time they were destroying my knees because they didn't have much support.

 

I bought Nikes for running and it's a night and day difference.

 

WAY back in the day I developed a nasty case of plantar fasciitis. I was walking to work (maybe 1/4 mile) and back in cheap shoes.

 

I did two things. Bought a pair of Rockports and a set of those "magnetic inserts". Never was afflicted (well, by PF) again.

 

In fact, I've wondered if the "P.F." in PF Flyers stood for...

I'm with the Parker kid. My household shoe budget is astronomical. Mine, personally, not so much

I don't budget for anything in the clothes lline. When I need something, I buy it/them. Typically, I buy one pair of Sperry deck shoes and one pair of walking/tennis shoes per year. Sperry's around $100 and tennis shoes $50.

 

The lovely lady gives more to Goodwill in a year than I have bought in my lifetime. Lord Have Mercy!! She must buy a pair or two a week. I just don't ask.

I'm usually a buy as needed guy. Spend big on work shoes / boots, as I'm on my feet all day. Pay up to $150 for them. Will impulse buy on a nice pair of dress shoes.

I get a new pair of work boots and a new pair of flip flops every year, and a new pair of topsiders about every 3 years.

I was browsing around the Shelbyville peddler's market several years ago and found a pair of Timberland work boots that appeared to be brand-new. After examining them, I determined they may have been worn 1-2 times. They were my size. And had a tag for $14 on them. I quickly snapped them up. Those boots were anywhere from $150-200 brand-new.

EWWWW. :lol2: I could actually see picking up a pair that looked to be new, but I've seen some at a yard sale that were just plain gross.

I'd get sick trying to figure out ours. Girlfriend and the oldest run 25-60 miles a week. They roll through shoes. Plus gotta have trail and road shoes. Or trainers and spikes.

 

I probably spend close to $300 myself on running and biking shoes and they buy 2x the shoes I do.

 

I barely ever buy any shoes that aren't for running or biking. Those two plus the youngest also invest heavily in non-running shoes.

As little as I can get buy with.

 

Probably $100 or so a year. Apparently I drag my right foot when I walk or just step weird or something, because the sole always ends up detaching in the back in the right foot only. That's when I replace them.

$50 a pop whenever I need them.
