Budget?! That sounds restricting! If I need or want a pair of shoes, I buy them. You can't plan these things though. Sometimes when I'm walking by the shoe dept., a pair just calls out to me! :angrybird5:

Me too. But on average, I buy a pair of new running shoes every year (about $70-$90). I also get a new pair or two of dress/casual shoes, which I normally buy on Ebay. I have pretty expensive taste, but get significant discounts....$400-$500 shoes sometimes for $50-$75 or so. So I spend maybe a couple hundred $'s a year on shoes. And every time I buy a pair, I typically get rid of a pair. I normally have a rotation of roughly 8 or 9 dress shoes, a couple pair of gym shoes, and a couple pair of real casual shoes in my closet.

Budget was just the first thing that popped in my head. Planning really isn't involved.

I probably buy three new pair of workout shoes a year. Not that I am anything special but I spend six days a week doing some type of exercise and I wear the shoes out pretty quick.

 

And I would say for every workout pair of shoes I buy another pair of shoes to either go out in or wear around the house. I love me a good pair of house shoes.

It's not really annually, and not always because of wear and tear. Sometimes my taste changes or sometimes I just want something new. I've got some shoes I've had for years and will pay to have repaired and maybe never get rid of, and some I really liked a lot to start, but then fell out of love with over time whether it's style or comfort. What can I say, I'm fickle. But I don't plan on making shoe purchases, they kind of just pop up spontaneously.

For me after about three months of heavy use a pair of running shoes is shot and needs to be replaced.
