Kroger Click List...have you tried it?

Kroger last fall opened a new "Super" Kroger in Somerset replacing an old dilapidated store. One of the big additions was the Click List lanes in the parking lot. Just wondering how many of you have used the Kroger Click List?

For those that don't know what it is, you basically go online and select your groceries and then pick an hour window later that day or the next that you want to pick them up. When you arrive you call a number posted in the lot and they bring out your groceries and load them in your vehicle all while you sit comfortably in the drivers seat. I think the first few times are free then after that there is a $4.95 charge for using the service.

Biggest Pro is that you save a ton of time over shopping. If you have children, work long hours, are mobility challenged or just don't like being around people this seems to be a good deal for you.

Greatest thing ever. So worth the fee. If you are a frequent Kroger shopper and you get pretty much the same stuff each visit, this is the way to do it.

Not only does it save time, but it can save money on the "impulse buys". Sure, if you are in the store, you may see bargains that you won't see via click list.

Also--in general, grocery shopping is labor intensive. Up and down the aisle, getting your stuff, loading it into your car, then unloading and putting it away at home. Pay the fee to have someone do the first 3 steps is a no brainer.

Talking to the young lady that brought out my groceries recently she said they fill about 500 orders per week at this store. Figuring the average order is around $150, which I guessed and she confirmed was about right, that's almost $4,000,000 a year just from that service in grocery sales per year.

I'd be willing to bet within the next 5 years nearly all Kroger locations and Walmart Supercenters will be doing something similar.

No. Sorry, I'll select my own produce. Thanks.

Many people feel like you and that's fine. But I've tried it a couple of times just to see and the produce has been outstanding each time. You can even specify how ripe you want something like say bananas or tomatoes.

One thing that is really good is if the item you request is out, they will replace it with a bigger size or higher quality item for the same price.

With Amazon Prime, you don't even need to leave your house. They do the shopping and deliver to your house within 2 hours for a $99/yr annual subscription. They do not as yet offer produce or meat, but for any other item, it is well worth it.

I don't have children and don't have mobility challenges, but I do often work long hours.

I don't have any desire to use Clicklist. I prefer walking through the story, seeing what deals/bargains there are. Comparing the deals on name brands with Kroger brand items (sometimes Kroger brand may be cheaper, sometimes the sale on the name brand is). Same thing with looking at larger quantities. Sometimes I find its better to buy 3 of the smaller item and its actually cheaper but they are making you think the larger item is.

I prefer to pick out my own produce and meat.

Plus, I hate the idea of handing over $5 to do something I can easily do.

Clicklist is definitely good for some, just not meant for me. Which is good for the ones its meant for because people like me won't be taking up the reservations.

Plus you can browse their beer selection and see if they have anything good / you haven't had yet, to make your own six pack. At least that is what I tend to do when I go there.

Great point. Is prime available outside of the major cities?

I always walk past to check it out but its rare I see anything in there I haven't had before. Felt like I hit the jackpot when they had four different Golden Roads when they start distributing around here. One thing you can thanks InBev for.

Probably just Lex, Lou and NKy (Maybe BG too). But they do have a pretty lengthy delivery radius. Here in NKy, traffic congestion is progressing rapidly, as this area continues to grow and expand. I hate just driving to downtown Cincy. and I'm only 9 miles away!
