September 25, 200620 yr Thurman was arrested at an overnight sobriety checkpoint. He was the driver (although not his car). Yes, Chris Henry was involved as well but not arrested. 5:00 in the morning. Odell was due to come back to the team this week.
September 25, 200620 yr Unbelievable. Does that count as violating the league's drug abuse policy? When will these idiots ever learn?
September 25, 200620 yr Chris Henry was a passenger in the car there saying along with another Bengal, but they did not get in trouble. NFL is saying Odell might get suspended for the year. We are 3-0 without him. If Henry was in the SUV I am just glad he didn't get cited.
September 25, 200620 yr Bengals second-year linebacker Odell Thurman was arrested early Monday at a combined Cincinnati Police and Ohio State Patrol sobriety checkpoint on Kellogg Avenue. Local 12 WKRC-TV reported Thurman was charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). Cincinnati Police Captain Dan Gerard said Thurman tested as a "high tier" or "Super OVI," which means his blood-alcohol level was in excess of .17 - more than twice the legal limit for drunk driving in Ohio, which is .08. Gerard said there were two other Bengals players in the car with Thurman, but he did not name them. The car belonged to "another Bengal," not Thurman, Gerard said. Odell
September 25, 200620 yr Until these guys start going to jail, this will not stop. Odell goes to court. 1st time offender, slap on the wrist yadayadayada. Question: if he tested positive for an illegal drug, why can't he be criminally charged for that?
September 25, 200620 yr People, even in the private sector, don't get arrested for failing drug tests.
September 25, 200620 yr At least this will give the Steelers fans something to talk about today!:argue:
September 25, 200620 yr NFL is saying Odell might get suspended for the year. So this happened at 5 in the morning, it's now 8:22, I seriously doubt they've already commented on this.
September 25, 200620 yr Odell was due to come back to the team this week.Wasn't he due back AFTER this week?
September 25, 200620 yr Odd that they had a checkpoint out there on a Sunday night. It is near the area near Annie's though. As I was watching the Bengals game and watching Henry I said we need to tie him to a coach to make sure he doesn't do anything wrong anymore, that we can't afford another Stanley Wilson episode down the line. You would think, if you have a lot of money, which they do, if they had too much to drink that they would call someone? pay someone to take them home? Well, they are human, and they will make mistakes just like others do.
