Someone offers you $20,000 for nothing.

Or you can have $200,000 if you can accurately guess the number between 1 & 5 that they have written on a piece of paper.

Would you take the guaranteed $20,000 or roll the dice on the $200,000?

Give me the guaranteed $20K. That'd take a huge chunk out of my wife's student loans or be a good start to a down payment for our next house.

There likely was a time in my life I'd have taken the 20K.

20k is the play, the odds are significantly against you in the guess.

Take the money and don't blink an eye. How anyone says otherwise I don't know.

Tough question. $20 k is very nice and yet $200 K is not a game changer. May just stick with the $20 K for now.

If stakes were higher and the payoff number was higher I'd roll the dice. It would have to be a true life changer to gamble it.

I'm taking the guaranteed 20K this year. Next year I may roll the dice and pick the number.

Currently, I'm taking the $20k.

Take the 20K. I used a random number generator to pick 20 numbers between 1 and 5. I wanted to see how many 4's (my number) came up. It so happened that the number 4 came up only once in 20 attempts for me!

So, 1 in 5. That's odd.
