I've never liked Bernie and I don't agree with most of his politics. I think he is a politician to the core and I don't believe a word he says. I think he is as hypocritical as they come. I didn't vote for Hillary and I wouldn't have voted for Bernie either.

 

I'm also petty and an Obama loyalist until I can be shown a good reason not to be an Obama loyalist/apologist/supporter. Elizabeth has now shown herself to be useless to me.

 

The Democratic Party is in shambles right now. I look forward to the day of the party getting its act together and being useful once again.

Was it when he broke up the "To Big To Fail" banks that dominated financial markets both before and after the 2008 crash? Well that didn't happen.

 

Maybe it was when he regulated and reformed the rating agencies that caused people to think investments in mortgage-backed securities were safe? Nope Moody's and S&P are still rating the same way they've always been.

 

Or maybe it was all the mortgage company and investment bank executives his Justice Department locked up in the wake of the housing market collapse that occurred largely due to fraud or deception on their part. Well not one of them went to jail and many of them are doing better than ever.

 

I think we're imagining an Obama presidency that never existed. It's all part of labeling Obama from day one as something other that what he was: a bit of a centrist that people could project whatever they wanted to on him.

Much more eloquent post of what I was trying to say in post 50. I think the hand-holding of Wall Street and Washington in the Obama and now Trump administration is gross, and I'm not ok with it. I think it was disingenuous for Hilary to run on Wall Street reform after cashing checks and not releasing her speeches. And I think it hilarious to remember so many calling Obama a socialist and looking back at his two terms in office. Still, even if I think $400k for a speech to Wall Street is a bad optic, I fail to see how it is hypocritical.
