Article is very telling of what all is involved, sometimes having to add a crew at the last minute is unavoidable though every effort is made to not let this happen before boarding. United is a victim here, they did are out of the picture once the security is involved furthermore, the passenger broke the law and his ticket agreement

 

I am very familiar with the entire process from a pilots point of view and years of stories where having to get a crew repositioned on short notice are unavoidable. There can be changes to improve this but it will come at a cost to passengers under the current system that is used by every airline.

I agree with this. His wild theatrical antics made it worse than need be. He needs to read all the fine print next time he flies.

Then why wasn't he arrested?

I agree with her for the most part. But, G. Public doesn't give a crap about anything except what they have already determined. I disagree the doctor should have been bloodied and physically harmed. But I also feel he had other recourse than pushing the envelope the way he did.

 

In the end, all will return to normal and we'll all be outraged at something different soon. It's inevitable.

Thing is, he wouldn't have been physically harmed if he would have walked out on his own. That's why I feel no sympathy for him.
