Cant wait to get a recap of the game.

Just as I thought.

Maybe people will begin to realize that Rock's close loss to Lincoln wasn't such a fluke after all. Lincoln County has some speed and play great D. The coached have donea great job putting players in the right positions and playing them. Lincoln County isn't just a below average team as many have said this past week.

:creepy: Ouch!

Is this the same SL team that beat PSW just 2 weeks ago? I guess Lincoln just returned the favor after last year's 40-7 loss to the Cards. Chappell needs to get to regrouping, or it could be a long year. Were there a lot of needless penalties called on SL again this week?

I missed this one. HUGE win for Lincoln and another tough loss for the Cardinals. SL now drops to 0-2, and with only 4 district games left, MUST go 3-1 to have a shot at the playoffs. With Mad Central, GRC, Montgomery, and Whitley left on the schedule, that is a tough row to hoe.

For Lincoln, this is a bigtime statement game. They are now 2-0 and are proving to be one of the frontrunners for a district title.

The district now looks like this:

Lincoln 2-0

GRC 1-0

N Laurel 1-0

Montgomery 1-1

Mad Ctrl 1-1

S Laurel 0-2

Whitley Co 0-2

South Laurel looked extremely impressive on their opening drive. They marched straight down the field to take a 7-0 lead. Lincoln's Trent Calhoun then took the kickoff back for a touchdown. The momentum completely switched sides and this game was never in doubt from there on. I believe Lincoln had somewhere in the neighborhood of 360 yards (all on the ground) in the first half.

I think weather conditions factored into the game; South's passing game struggled at times. But much credit should go to the Lincoln defense and coaching staff, who made some tremendous changes late in the first quarter...South Laurel never threatened afterwards.

Lincoln has an outstanding chance of running the table and winning District 8.

By my math, that's an 82 point turnaround against the same time the next year. I'm guessing that doesn't happen very often.

Lincoln did what ever they wanted to on the ground in this game. I would not be surprised if they had 500 plus rushing, with both Braxton Miller and Trent Calhoun both near or over the 200 mark each. The defense played really well against the pass after the first couple of series.

Congrats to LCHS and staff for making this a huge turnaround season. Good luck the rest of the way!!

I'd say the people that referred to Lincoln as an average team should probably seek counseling at this point. They've now beaten a very good Rockcastle team and dominated South Laurel. Sounds like Death Valley is again living up to its name.

The squishy field conditions at Death Valley did nothing to neutralize Calhoun and Miller's speed.

Miller - 20-259 4TDs

Calhoun - 12-183 3TDs and a 75-yard KO return

Bowling started out 9-12 for 123 yards and a TD of 24 yards to Wes King, but was 11-22 for 73 the rest of the way after LC made some nice adjustments.

The clock ran from the 9:30 mark of the 3rd quarter.
