Louisville 71 Notre Dame 64

Louisville struggled offensively for big stretches of this one, especially early in the game. Mahmoud COULD NOT STOP putting layups off the front of the rim. Never seen a team so skilled at missing the easy ones.

The series of insane matchups between Louisville and ND did continue though, including what seems to be a pretty even series this year. Cards won by 7 in Louisville; Irish won by 7 in South Bend.

Cards get the double bye and the No. 4 seed in the ACC tournament. Play the survivor of Clemson/NC State and Duke on Thursday afternoon.

Just a terrible draw for the ACC tourney. Are we sure they aren't the 14 seed and not the 4?

With the insane bunch-up at seeds 2-6, I don't know how many good draws were available.

But two things hurt us: 1) only having a road game at FSU -- lost that game by five points without Q. Snider and it ended up being crucial to the tiebreaker and 2) dropping that game at Wake this week. Beat Wake and we're the 2 seed and looking at a quarterfinal against VT instead of Duke.

Three seasons in the ACC and three 12-6 records. I'm not thrilled but overall pretty pleased with our start in the conference.
