Does the Northern Kentucky Boys Basketball Coaches Assoc. need to look in the mirror?

That does not really make sense. The vote had nothing to do with players on D2 and D3 teams in NKY.

Right, meaning CJ was voted the 8th best player in NKY among a limited number of schools. Which means statistically speaking CJ would be rated even lower if all of NKY was under consideration which further points out what a farce this whole process is by the NKBBCA.

Really. We've had 8 pages on some vote the rest of Ky doesn't even know about! Relax guys. Kid can play and is really good and will go to school for free..you're taking yourselves too seriously.

If I am coach voting on this, I'm voting for a kid who had a better year. Not necessarily the best player based on past accomplishments and if he would have been healthy. I would be upset as another player if a kid who was hurt for part of the season was ahead of me.

You totally missed the point.

Anytime you have a group of coaches taking actions that call their integrity into question it is a big deal.

And of course the kid can play or he wouldn't have D1 Offers.

Using your logic every kid would be upset.

I don't want to get into a debate with you about this. Read the thread, what you need to know is already in this thread and not in dispute.

Also coaches voting for these kind of awards can sometimes be sketchy. You don't think they talk to other coaches and say "Hey if you vote for this kid on my team I'll vote for this kid on your team."

If there is a Boone Co Mafia well that is 3 coaches of the 9 throw in 1 other that I know loathes CovCath and maybe there is collusion here. But CVH was in the Top 3 and collusion or not he is a dandy of a player and great kid as well. Plus he did not miss a game all season. Heck he probably barely sat a minute.

I would almost guarantee this doesn't happen.

Then what is this thread about? I'm not an NKY person and I do not understand what everybody is so upset about.

I wish I could "really like" a post!!!:thumb:

It is pretty clear what is going on if you read all the posts in the thread. Let me take a shot at summarizing.

The coaches don't like the way Coach Frederick and Covington Catholic go about their business in their program. If we are going to use Guru's word integrity, I think the coaches will say integrity is why they voted the way they did.

It is unfortunate that CJ did not finish 3rd or 4th instead of 8th and that he is penalized in this vote. But, I am sure this vote provides the Cov Cath coaches with fodder to use in motivational talks to their team about woe is me and they are all against us.

So what do these kids receive besides a plaque? Did the young man miss out on anything significant by being 8th instead of higher?

They can use whatever means they want to motivate their team. I'm sure every team that they play will be just as motivated to beat them. If you are not motivated and playing your best ball at this time of year you will be watching the rest of the tourney from the stands.

If I had to guess, CJ nor CVH are crying over this. They'll likely let they're play prove they're better than the field

There are some in the the field that are just as good if not better.
