Riherd's scoreboard for some reason is missing the stats for Jake's freshman year. He has scored 2067 points over the past three seasons.

Has there ever been a player to win Player of the Year honors in both basketball and baseball? He has to be in the preseason talks to win 10th Region POY in baseball as well.

 

I think Mason County's Nic Nelson will have something to say about that.

They talked about Jake and his performance in the 2017 Sweet 16 today in the 2018 Sweet 16 draw show. They mentioned it being one of the "best ever" performances in Sweet 16 history.

It's amazing to sit back and realize that he'd be playing at an NAIA (I think) school if his shot against Campbell County doesn't go in. A lot of people in NKY knew he was good, but it was a matter of everybody else seeing the hype.

Whats going on down at WKU right now for Ohmer?

On games prior to Christmas he was averaging over 24 minutes a game and 9.8 PPG.

The next 7 games he averages 11 minutes and 2.5 PPG

Last game he gets his first start of the season and scores 12 points in 21 minutes.

 

I know a couple kids became eligible at the break, but low numbers for 7 games, and ends up with a start??? Was the coach sending a message?

Very simple...Jake is a good shooter, he can't guard an empty room. No defense, too small at that level to stop quick and athletic guards. He can shoot when open, but no defense for a D1 guard.
