Condemning protests would be contradictory to the 1st Amendment. And we all know how "the right" whines about their rights being taken away.

So your fine with not condemning the violence at the colleges recently. It's ok to just come up and pepper spray a woman because she is for the President.

Riots and protests are not the same. Violence turns a protest into a riot.

This statement is made constantly on this forum. It seems nearly every "peaceful protest" from those that support a certain party turn into riots.

Until this stops, they will be ignored, as they should.

Speaking personally, until the "scoreboard" group that has emerged on here since November grows up, the divide will remain and I have no intentions of trying to make it better.

A perfect example of not willing to listen to someone with a differing opinion.

When the scoreboard cheerleaders (they know who they are:lol2:) add something substantive to a topic, I listen. All too often, however, it's a kneejerk response to a discussion that isn't going their way.

Well, it didn't take long for this thread to go off the rails.

Have no idea what you mean by scoreboard cheerleader.

In my best reach across the aisle voice, please re read all the posts here. Its not good for unity to say, unless someone does something then I am not listening. Otherwise unless things are my way, I will not listen.

Before anyone ever listens, they must get over their hurt and anger. We must sometimes come to the realization that we were not right to full understand the others sides view. Anger will eat at you from the inside and make you dig your heels in even further and create a divide you yourself preach against.

Jesse, you're the guy who shoves and runs his jaw all game, but at the end IF his team wins wants to shake hands and talk about how great a game it was.

I speak only for myself here.

I am way over any anger or "hurt". But I will not take ridicule or denigration from anyone. I have learned that not many here have any desire to hear what I think. I have learned that what I post is just fodder for some of you to take off line and laugh about. I read virtually everything posted, but I am unwilling to post much in reply any more. I see threads that are comprised mostly of people posting a topic and then a back and forth of their cliques ridiculing people who haven't even posted in reply, and stating in ridiculing posts why those people haven't posted. I get the feeling the topics aren't posted in the hope of real discussion, but as another opportunity to try and belittle others.

I've made the decision to "walk the walk" in my non-BGP life, and I believe nothing will come of my participation on a discussion board. I have always believed change begins in one's own personal world.

I don't want a divide. It's disheartening to witness. But I will not sacrifice my fundamental values to appease anyone. And, despite all those who believe otherwise, I am not a "snowflake". I am a strong person and will be just fine, even if I do not believe the same way as you.

Thank you, for yet again proving our point.

Perfect analogy. :lol2:

I have listened and will continue to listen to everybody, including those with different opinions, as long as they can hold a conversation like an adult. Some here struggle greatly with that.

I guess he means people like Obama who point out who won and that elections have consequences.

Are you interested in lessening the divide or widening it?
