Football 101 boys and girls. If you ever needed an example of what turnovers do to a football team just look at B.C. this year. Throw away the Henry Clay game and Boyle could very honestly be 4-1 instead of 1-4. The teams that beat us deserve some of the credit for causing the turnovers I know that. But boyle has without a doubt been their own worst enemy this year.

I was told that Boyle is having trouble running the ball. It is hard for the Rebels to line up and get the short yardage when they need it. True?

There enrollment has nothing to do with Mercer winning! They were winning last year before the merger! The reason Mercer is doing good is because of good coaching! Just because a team has a big enrollment that doesn't make them a winning football team!

I agree with you to a point but I also think that Mercer has benefited greatly from absorbing the Harrodsburg athletes.

wow 4 losses straight. I hope someone has hidden all the sharp instruments in the greater Danville area. Called my dad in Junction city and they have boarded up the windows. something about angry mobs in the streets.

lol...I know it was SOOOO LONNNGGG a ago.

It was not that long ago but there have been alot of changes. A depleted Tomcat Offensive line is now healthy, their best playmaker has moved back to where they need him most at WR and their RB who is loaded with potential has finally started to realize it.

Ashland more than doubled Raceland in total yardage, time of possesion and most importantly turnovers. The last along with giving up a couple of big plays on special teams killed the Tomcats in that game. Good teams somitimes stub their toe and lose to a team they really shouldn't lose to. Ashland is a very good team and will be a force in the class AAA playoffs.

Of Course it surely doesn't hurt Mercer County to have a 3A enrollment and continue to play a 2A schedule.

They also had to merge 2 programs from different schools in a short time frame. Kind of makes it a wash. Mercer is tough and will be hard for anyone to handle right now.

Huge win for Mercer County. I am a Bowling Green alum/ Boyle County fan becasue of my stepson. Great game, glad I was there in the packed house standing room only stadium. Boyle played their hearts out and it has been a long 4 weeks for Boyle. I hope they continue to fight on as they begin the district portion of their schedule. All four teams that beat Boyle will make deep playoff runs this year so Boyle players and fans don't need to hang their heads about anything. Mercer was very impressive and I am very happy for the Mercer community that i work in and I wish Mercer and all their fans continued success. Nice job.

And yes, Cory Jackson is real. And yes, I don't care what team you are, what classification you have, and how good your team is, if you let Cory Jackson get to the outside, say goodbye. I truly believe that NOONE in this state of KY playing high school football will catch Cory Jackson when he turns the corner. He is that fast.

Very entertaining game tonight. The stands were overflowing and the atmosphere was electric. Mercer definitely has a solid football team, especially the defense. If they make it to Louisville, it will be because of their defense imo. They put pressure on the Boyle qb all night long preventing him from getting into any rhythm all night. Excellent pursuit to the ball which limited Boyle's running attack immensely. Also, the pass coverage was very good. Boyle burned them a few times but not enough to make a difference in the game. Mercer's offense wasn't as sharp as I expected it to be, but the big plays made the difference. #2 is very fasttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt.

Cory Jackson was the difference.

If Ifs and nuts were candy....Still took an L.

CAN ANYBODY SAY CHUCK SMITH?????????

I'm not overlooking anybody. I just don't think anyone of those teams comes within 2 TD's of this team.

TALK, TALK, TALK!!! We'll see.

Ok so you're saying that a very good football team (Mercer Co), picks up a small enrollment of another school (Harrodsburg) probably at least 2 or 3 fine athletes doesn't help Mercer this year?

So none of the starters played for Harrodsburg last year?

Of course it helps! Im just saying I think Mercer would be one of the top teams in 2A without the merger.
