No. And I believe that Russell has the best shot of anyone in the state at beating the Titans but Mercer's offensive and defensive balance is way ahead of anyone in 2A right now. I'm a neutral observer, by the way.

How in the world can you be a neutral observer and say Mercer is heads and shoulders above everybody in 2a when u have not seen Russell, Belfry,Sheldon Clark in person.

Russell averages 38 points a game and gives up 11 points a game. That's againt three 3A schools and one 2A school. I would say that's pretty decent offensive and defensive balance.

What teams were they to be specific? You could brag on beating 4A teams but if those are Seneca, Eastern, Southern, or Atherton then you don't have much to brag about.

Whether it should or shouldn't be is not the point. The point is that they are miles ahead of any 2A team in the state and if that's because they have a 3A enrollment then so be it. But that is where they are at this point in time.

This is not an uncommon occurance at any level.

Ashland, Greenup and Boyd. Greenup and Boyd aren't power house 3A teams, but all three are local rivalries as well. I wasn't bragging as much as I was indicating these weren't weak smaller schools. And Ashland beat Russell in 3OT
