Not real new. Russell sent them home last year with a 2 TD win.

 

 

I should say another team. I am not ragging on Russell in this case. It happens in 4A all the time too.

Ashland, Greenup and Boyd. Greenup and Boyd aren't power house 3A teams, but all three are local rivalries as well. I wasn't bragging as much as I was indicating these weren't weak smaller schools. And Ashland beat Russell in 3OT

Well wasn't Ashland beaten by Raceland who was beaten tonight by LCA who was destroyed by Mercer who was, who was, who was....The thread is about the MC/BC game

How in the world can you be a neutral observer and say Mercer is heads and shoulders above everybody in 2a when u have not seen Russell, Belfry,Sheldon Clark in person.

 

What does seeing them in person have to do with anything. I just see how Mercer has been dismantling a lot of good teams. This is not a knock on any of your teams you mentioned, but I think is very obvious that they aren't playing on Mercer's level at this time.

Whether it should or shouldn't be is not the point. The point is that they are miles ahead of any 2A team in the state and if that's because they have a 3A enrollment then so be it. But that is where they are at this point in time.

There enrollment has nothing to do with Mercer winning! They were winning last year before the merger! The reason Mercer is doing good is because of good coaching! Just because a team has a big enrollment that doesn't make them a winning football team!

This was a very good win for Mercer Co. I do not think they are unbeatable in AA and some of the teams that could beat them have already been mentioned. This was a huge game for the Titans so go and enjoy it. Everything else will be sorted out in the playoffs.

Football 101 boys and girls. If you ever needed an example of what turnovers do to a football team just look at B.C. this year. Throw away the Henry Clay game and Boyle could very honestly be 4-1 instead of 1-4. The teams that beat us deserve some of the credit for causing the turnovers I know that. But boyle has without a doubt been their own worst enemy this year.

Ok so you're saying that a very good football team (Mercer Co), picks up a small enrollment of another school (Harrodsburg) probably at least 2 or 3 fine athletes doesn't help Mercer this year?

 

So none of the starters played for Harrodsburg last year?

This thread needs to get back on track and stay focused on the Mercer/Boyle game.

I lived in Danville for 3 years, so I know how big of a win this was for Mercer County. Definately gained some well deserved respect, especially locally.
