If it is no big deal, then just do it. The more a person hides something the more people think there is something to hide. Transparency is what people want, so give it to them. That is the issue. I could give a squat whether he releases them, but he sure makes it seem like there is something there he doesn't want people to see.

It doesn't. I'm not all that concerned about his finances.

I really don't care if he releases them, but I do agree that his refusal to do so can make one wonder what he might be hiding.

 

Aside from all of that it never ceases to amaze me how in just about any topic imaginable those who defend their party without fail sing such a different song when the shoe is on the other foot, and carry on in this fashion like they don't even realize that they're doing it, or that it's perfectly acceptable, logical, and rational.

 

What an interesting read it would be to have a composite record to vividly display how shamelessly biased everyone is.

 

Sadly though even if we did people's biases would somehow have them spin the evidence in such a way to deny it's validity.

 

I mentioned this in another thread, but it's so similar to attending a basketball game where throughout the entire contest your eyes never fail to see the violations committed by the opponent, yet peculiarly you somehow never notice the violations committed by the team you are rooting for.

 

People's credibility regarding their views would hold so much more water if they weren't so blatant in this area, but because they are there's little mystery in why you rarely to next to never see any cataclysmic shifts in people's views, or even at least witness people much honoring others views with an open mind and/or respect. When people are so blatant and/or insufferable with their biases it's sorta difficult to take them seriously.

 

I'm guilty of having biases too and often force myself to take a hard took inward to take notice of them to see if I'm being fair or irrational. It seems to be human nature to have them yet that inward look and assessment appears to be the thing that is severely lacking, and perhaps the one important thing that could aid in ultimately providing understanding.

Family should not be fair game unless the family member(s) is an integral part of the campaign or administration.

Absolutely. For goodness sakes, the man lies about the most trivial of things like crowd size. I don't doubt for an instant that he's had shady dealings with foreign governments.

That's true. I just wonder why he is so adamant about not releasing them. I can kinda understand the politics of not releasing them during the primary but now that he's won and is safely in the Oval Office , one would think the gesture of transparency might win over those who are not quite yet on board the Trump train.

I'm not all that interested in what a Presidential candidate did in school at 19. Probably just me, though.

I am sure that I am not alone in wondering who paid his bills, whether he accurately represented himself as an American student, and whether he earned his place at an Ivy League school or benefited from some minority set aside program, despite his private school education. I have similar questions about how Trump finally managed to get into Whartorn. I suspect that neither were exceptional students or both would have released their records. Neither man is particularly modest about his accomplishments.

I agree that you shouldn't have to release yours.

Serious question because I don't know. Is he still under IRS audit? If so and his attorney advises him against releasing, I have no problem. If the audit is over, then I wish he would although tax returns don't tell you near as much as the other stuff he already has provided.

 

If the audit is not already completed, why the heck not? You would think they would have thrown enough resources to complete it during the campaign so that excuse would go away.
