Serious question because I don't know. Is he still under IRS audit? If so and his attorney advises him against releasing, I have no problem. If the audit is over, then I wish he would although tax returns don't tell you near as much as the other stuff he already has provided.

 

If the audit is not already completed, why the heck not? You would think they would have thrown enough resources to complete it during the campaign so that excuse would go away.

Anything that you want to know about a potential president's past is fair game, IMO. Whatever you believe that you need to bring yourself to vote for a candidate, you should not hesitate to ask. If a candidate refuses, then you must decide how important that missing piece of data is in your decision making process.

 

Once a candidate is elected, or in Obama's case, has left office, then it is really too late for voters to demand any information from them that they are not legally obligated to share with the public.

 

So, as much as I would like to satisfy my curiosity about Obama's academic record, I have as much right to see that information as those who are demanding to see Trump's tax returns.

 

I commented abut Obama's opaque academic record to make a point. I have no more legal right to see that information than liberals have to examine Trump's tax returns. Once an election is over, eligible voters lose whatever leverage that they had to demand information from candidates to which they are not legally entitled.
