Really thought this might be the Cowboys time. Man that hurt! I don't think that GB was any better than the Boys today, they made the last play, that's all that counts. Game could have went either way, it went GB's way. I don't hate GB FOR WINNING, heck, they are a great team, they very well could win it all.

Crazy stat that blew my mind....It has been 20 years since Dallas was last in a conference championship game, let alone a Super Bowl. Wouldn't have guessed it's been that long.

I saw a funny tweet that said something like "Don't worry, Cowboy fans. Yankees spring training starts in a month."

On that catch Cook made.....I had never seen one ref come up and pat another on the butt for ...presumably...a good call. Where I was watching, we all got a kick out of it.

Cowboys fans should be very happy for the future.

The time to cash in is now for them. QB and HB are on their rookie deals. Need to invest in pass rushers/DBs

When people talk about who is a better qb, people probably would have said Dalton in terms of just talent at the qb spot. With that said Dak a rookie 4th round qb making his first playoff start showed how important mental toughness is. People defending Dalton would have used the excuse the defense didn't play well either if Dalton was the qb and they got destroyed like it was looking early.

However Dak did what you want a qb to do, his play gave them a chance. You need a qb to make winning plays for your team in big games when other things may not be going well. Defense didn't play well, they got down by a lot and needed Dak to perform to give them a chance and he stepped up. In 6 years we haven't seen Dalton do that in a big game. When other areas don't play well, he doesn't step up to make plays to give us a chance in big games.

Dak impressed me more in this game than he has all year. Dallas is in great hands with him. They have a qb who in the moment will step his play up, when other parts of the team may not be performing.

Sitting behind that line, Dalton would be great.

The thing that strikes me often as I watch these really good teams in games, several plays a game there will be receivers so wide open a defender is barely in the picture. It seems like that never happens for the Bengals.

Dalton before this year has played behind a line rated as one of the best pass protecting lines, obviously this year was not the case. However even then he has failed time after time in his 6 years in big games. He doesn't make plays to help out when other areas may not be playing well. That is why Dak impressed me. I thought he only did well because of the running game and play action. He showed yesterday that he can step up and make plays when other areas aren't going well for the team.

I do agree it seems like other teams get guys wide open on busted coverages, etc. While we never have that happen, no matter who the offensive coordinator is. Maybe it's bad schemes. Or it could be because that is the one down fall to Dalton having a quick release. He usually only looks one way and then gets rid of it quick. Similar to Alex Smith. Which Alex Smith didn't see a few times a guy getting wide open because of his quick release. Obviously you want the ball out quick, but I guess the one down fall is it prevents teams from possibly worrying about a busted coverage.

How in the world did both game threads from yesterday turn into discussions about Andy Dalton? Sigh....

^ Your post reveals a big part of why Dalton's line has rated highly - his quick release. I think the Bengals line in previous years has been overrated. They are nowhere close to what Dallas has on the o-line. It's almost blasphemous to even talk about those two lines in the same post.

Because most of us on here are Bengals fans?

Which has exactly what to do with the Packers/Cowboys or Chiefs/Steelers?

Dreams. Trying to figure out what the Bengals could possibly do to get to a title game.

But before you get too warped over this supposed problem, if I counted right, before your post there were 68 posts in the thread and only 3 referenced Dalton.

In the now: AROD is who we thought he was....In the future Dak can become what the cowboys think he is.... And Zeke...he is a freak
