January 17, 20179 yr How in the world did both game threads from yesterday turn into discussions about Andy Dalton? Sigh.... Once I see an AD post pop up in a thread (normally posted by the usual suspects) not about the Bengals or AD, I typically exit the thread for good. Only reason I stayed in this one to read is that the game was that good.
January 17, 20179 yr ^ Your post reveals a big part of why Dalton's line has rated highly - his quick release. I think the Bengals line in previous years has been overrated. They are nowhere close to what Dallas has on the o-line. It's almost blasphemous to even talk about those two lines in the same post. Fair enough. I still not sold in big games Dalton would make the necessary throws to help his team win, even if he was behind that line. Dalton has never shown mentally to handle the big moments against good teams, or how to be the guy to step up and make plays when other areas aren't going well. So far in his 6 years we have learned Dalton needs a great defense, great running game, great offensive line, great wrs, and if he gets all that then he will win playoff games. Those are all the excuses used when Dalton performs bad in big games. My argument is as we seen sometimes especially in big games other parts of the team may not play well, and you need your qb to step up to make plays to get things fixed. That doesn't happen with Dalton, in big games if other areas don't play well, then we know we're in trouble because he doesn't make the plays to overcome that and usually gets rattled and plays bad himself. That's why Dak impressed me, he actually had to step up and make plays to get his team back in it and he did that.
January 17, 20179 yr Which has exactly what to do with the Packers/Cowboys or Chiefs/Steelers? Dreams. Trying to figure out what the Bengals could possibly do to get to a title game. But before you get too warped over this supposed problem, if I counted right, before your post there were 68 posts in the thread and only 3 referenced Dalton. To be fair game threads involving other teams usually only last a day and then people move on from it, even if there is no Bengals stuff brought into it. People usually get out what they need or what to say about the game the day of and then those threads usually disappear. So while this thread may have got hijacked by Bengal talk by the end of it. The life of this thread was going to die after a day anyways.
January 17, 20179 yr Crazy stat that blew my mind....It has been 20 years since Dallas was last in a conference championship game, let alone a Super Bowl. Wouldn't have guessed it's been that long. As Stephan A. would be quick to point out - 21 years and two playoff wins. America needs a better team.
January 17, 20179 yr I was definitely wrong in picking my BOYS. However if I am Garrett, I am taking tons of heat, it is time for Scott Linehan to go. Play calling was awful, at end of the half they are lucky the Pack did not score again before the half. Red zone play calling was atrocious. Why in the world if you know Rogers is great, would you not keep him on the sideline with running the football, or screen to Elliott? When they got inside the 20 they were pass happy. D-fense has been bad all year I get that, WHY NOT pressure him like you did the whole second half on that last drive Marinelli? The penalty's which started hurting them late in the year cost them big plays early, and not establishing the run. Dak was nervous early so make it easy on him. There is no way they should of lost this game, and alot of blame to go around. Rogers is a beast! But the Cowboys team is better but not with Linehan, time to go!
January 17, 20179 yr Cowboys fans should be very happy for the future. The time to cash in is now for them. QB and HB are on their rookie deals. Need to invest in pass rushers/DBs It's funny, they had a legitimate chance to take one of the best DB prospects in the past couple of years but passed on him this year. All year I had to deal with a couple posters joke about how much better the Zeke pick was than Ramsey. Sunday, Ramsey would have made more of a difference than Zeke IMO. Not saying Zeke wasn't a great pick just stating an opinion.
January 17, 20179 yr I'll take Zeke over Ramsey. Zeke also helps play def by running the ball and keeping the ball.

January 18, 20179 yr I think a pass rusher would make more of a difference. Cowboys could have a dynasty building with this OL they have though They'll only be able to afford them for a few years, since there is a salary cap in the NFL. Those OL guys' contracts will start coming up and they'll have to pay them, then turn right around and pay Dak and Elliott to keep them. And their defense will continue to suck as a result because it's Dallas and they love flashy offense.
