Marvin Lewis has Retired?

Featured Replies

I would love Zimmer here. Would I have never understood is all the love for Zimmer but no one mentions Jay Gruden. When Jay was here people didnt think he was good, but he was the one who put together this offense from scratch and made it a top 10 offense his last year here. He then goes to Washington and puts his head coaching career on the line right away by benching RGIII who the owner loved for a 5th round draft pick qb named Cousins. He is now a win away this Sunday from his second consecutive playoff birth since taking over Washington.

Hue Jackson and Zimmer got all the love while here, but Jay may have been the best Coach of the group.

I like Jay Gruden too. The players apparently love Hue Jackson, but I was never impressed by him.

If Marvin did retire, I'd be all in on Zimmer. Assuming that Marvin moves to the front office as GM, he may be able to pull Zimmer back to Cincy.

Hue will be available middle of next season when the Browns fire him.

Zimmer can't just leave to come here. He would have to be fired or the Vikings would have to trade him. Neither thing will happen this off season.

Marvin told Sirius NFL show this morning he is coming back.

Him leaving was just too good to be true!!! :) Just that much more incentive to enjoy college football next season!

Very telling statement on 700 this morning by Marvin. I know that this clip is taped earlier in the week, but they way he made a simple statement was very hintive.

Well he can retire and no get paid his last year on contract or coach and get paid.

If Cincinnati fired him they have o pay him and and new coach.

He isn't that bad of a coach.

We know the Bengals aren't making the playoffs next year now

hmmmm let's play the Marvin game.

I'm bad at my job. No other coach in the modern NFL era or possibly ever in NFL history has sucked more at a job as never winning a single game in the post season in 14 consecutive years of being a HC for the same team. Sooooo should I step down as being such a horrible coach and give the franchise a chance at greater things or stay at least another year as HC and make $5 million.

I'm going to be a selfish jerk and make the fans of the franchise wait at least another year in the teams 50 year existence to rebuild and have a shot at a championship.

Im staying!!! So all you fans can suck it!

Marvin has always been a caring kind of guy. NOT!

I would stick out my job if everyone hates my guts for $5 million.

John Gruden would be the most ridiculous suggestion in this thread only if Josh McDaniels name hadn't been mentioned.
