That Kramer kid was impressive...I don't think X ever put a real good lick on him.....and that is something that X prides itself on.....hard-hitting defense....

Kramer and Cecil were both very impressive and fun to watch! Great players and competitors:thumb: I think this game goes along way towards helping to get X ready to play the Rocks and Bulldogs. The Defense had not seen speed like that yet this season and as a result, maybe thought they were a little better than they are at this stage. I think the D will get a lot out of this as the Highlands line was certainly more aggressive and won the battle for the most part. By seasons end I think the X D-line and backers will be really good, but they learned a little about themselves Saturday.

X O-line really stepped up in the 2nd half and made it look like St X football is supposed to look., Nice job guys.

Overall, very intertaining and hard fought football game:ylsuper: . That's what I love about high school ball.

BG's defense may have been better. H's offense was superior, but most of the BG backfield was out the night they played X.

I said it in an earlier post, but it bears repeating: Immense respect for Highlands. They have far fewer boys in the school than X, IMO less athleticism, but they stuck right with X, and never blinked or flinched. It again confirms the old axiom: It's not the size of the dog in the fight-its the size of the fight in the dog.

That would be a RED DOG!

:D

Really, some Moeller fans said that they had played St.X's JV on Friday. Are they confused?

The X web site has X at Moeller on 9/8.

You are correct. The JV team played Moeller Friday evening and about 40 people stayed over night to watch the Varsity on Saturday. By the way, the X JV team lost this game 7-0. (They were undefeated since freshmen year going into this game) It was a tough game - X fumbled on the 1 yard line.

As stated in an earlier post about not being invited next year. I would have to say St X shot themselves in the foot by not having a good crowd showing. Organizers would rather invite a team that has a good following rather than who is playing in this kind of venue. It helps that you are Louisville St.X and it should be a given to have a huge following, but Sat was a disgrace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess St X is spoiled by playing 2 to 3 times a year at Papa John's Stadium in front of 20 to 25000 people. You wont be back, and not that you probably care!!!!

If they do not play next year it will be b/c they have 2 of the last 3 and elect not too. They still had more than the 1st game that had two city teams playing. You could see Highlands form the top of the stadium is why they had so many. Maybe it was who they played and what happened last year. High School Football is for Friday nights and that makes a huge difference also. Discrace is a strong word.

Is this true? The entire O-line? Wow, pretty impressive.

D-III maybe but they surely were quick and never let up. The scheme also helps.

Now this is funny!

No wonder there were so many confused NCC fans there!

Did not get to see the game, but listened to it at work. Sounded like the Birds fought as hard as they could but from the radio broadcast, Anderson seemed to be too much for the Birds. I still would like to see more passing, and noticed that i didn't hear number 22 called very much on the offensive side for the birds. Wish they would use him somewhere. I understand that Kramer and Cecil are phenominal runners and the O is run-run-run. Then let the kid play defense. Just think that a kid that is that big needs to be utilitzed. Maybe they will get some practice against Pulaski SW this week, Good Luck Birds keep your heads up!!!!

To give the freshman the "experience" of being in PBS, Dale had the freshmen dressed on the sideline, so there were really 30 less players available to Highlands than what it looked.
Thanks for the info.
