St. X 35 Highlands 21

I am not asking this as a slam, but why was St. X's crowd so small yesterday?

I believe it was a combo of things....

1. CSAA (catholic grade school football) is played on Sundays and most teams practice their walk thrus on Saturday mornings. A lot of little brothers play here and a lot of X-men coach.

2. Optomist football is played on Saturdays here. Little brothers and parents (same deal).....it was for me anyway...

3. The score last year....

4. It's on TV

5. UL plays on Saturdays....even though it was an away game.

Also, UofL started 1 hour before the X game and UK played near the same time as well. Not sure of their kickoff time?

Is Finch a sophomore or junior?

I'm still surprised that so many X-folks including X frosh football players and coaches were in attendance at the T/Moe freshman game Saturday at 11:00 at Trinity instead of rooting on the Tigers to victory.

Sophomore.

That is very odd, given the fact that gasoline has came down a little in price, and Cincy isn't too far up the road.

You don't think that the X people were hoping our freshmen would get destroyed and have more pleasure to see a Trinity team lose than root for their own team to win ? That was a sad looking stadium on the tube. Absolutely no local interest whatsoever. It looked like a soccer crowd! Oh, well . We will take their money if they want to watch our frosh play heroically in a 21-14 OT loss. Our kids had nothing to be ashamed of !!!!!!!:thumb:

By the way. That was an entertaining X-Highlands game. Congratulations to both squads for a well played game.

As stated in an earlier post about not being invited next year. I would have to say St X shot themselves in the foot by not having a good crowd showing. Organizers would rather invite a team that has a good following rather than who is playing in this kind of venue. It helps that you are Louisville St.X and it should be a given to have a huge following, but Sat was a disgrace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess St X is spoiled by playing 2 to 3 times a year at Papa John's Stadium in front of 20 to 25000 people. You wont be back, and not that you probably care!!!!

St X really showed us who was the better and deeper football team Sat. We have nothing to be ashamed of though, since coming off a simular game the week before. Highlands played a very solid football game and good things will soon come. Great Job Birds!!!!!!!

The whole left side of the line did a great job blocking for Anderson and Finch (Corey O'Daniels, Eddie Sinclair, and Donnie Bowers). I know Highlands Offensive line is D-1 calliber but I also seen alot of heart and effort from that side of the line. I look forward to seeing who these guys are being recuited by from the college level.

Is this true? The entire O-line? Wow, pretty impressive.

This was a great game to watch. It was my first game in PBS and what were they thinking when they picked army green for the seat color, makes the place look dull and drab. After being out of sync and trailing the first half the Tigers went back to the old ground and pound mixed with enough passing to keep the birds off balance. The thing that impressed me most was the second half focus that resulted in no flags or turnovers or mistakes in the kicking game.It was great to see Wade take control of the offense and also see improvement in the kicking game.A very hard hitting game and both teams played a great second half.My hat is off to the birds who never gave up and played hard to the end.I think both teams will benefit from this game.Great job Tigers!!!

Looking at their size in the program I believe a little hyperbole is in use. They do play with a lot of heart, though.

That means everybody went to Lexington to Tailgate before the game. It would have been hard to go to Cincy, then to Lexington and be able to Tailgate the way the Cats fans like to Tailgate. Or is that "have" to Tailgate in order to get through a football game?

Just posting the correct time. FYI, there isn't a college game being played that would keep me from watching the Rocks.
