I should probably add that I have the mentality of play anybody anywhere, and I know that's probably not the norm.

1st guess should be it eliminates the home court advantage IU has in Bloomington, obviously.

 

But they are giving up a home court advantage at Rupp so that doesn't make sense.

Coach Cal seems to believe that playing that game on a neutral court, still in their state, is better preparation for what they will experience in the postseason. So a neutral game helps to prepare his team better than playing in Assembly Hall.

 

A lot of IU fans care more about beating UK than they do about doing something meaningful in March. And I know that is Hyberbole, but the number of IU fans that still talk about winning a game in December, when they actually lost to the same team when in mattered in March, makes it a little more accurate.

Both sides are at fault. UK/Cal probably more so than IU, but to me it doesn't seem either side is that interested in making it happen, or it would have.

 

From recollection, the UK/IU home and home series were relatively new. I always remember the games being in Indianapolis and Louisivlle, not Bloomington and Lexington. The Assembly-Rupp games started when, mid-to-late 2000s and happened for 6 years?

 

Never is a long time, so at some point in the future they will again renew a series.

 

Besides conference challenge games or in-state/cross-state rivalries, how many power conference home and homes out there anymore? I can't think more than a handful. I know UK and UCLA have the past two years (is this one continuing, btw?).

Because they agreed to do it for one game, not two. UK isn't willing to give up the advantage at all.

Just a guess , but Duece's irrational insinuation that UK wont play IU because they beat us in a DEC road game is just silly.

The facts are UK fans were not just treated poorly or " it was a hostile environment " They were spit on , physically attacked , shoved , kids were cursed out . It was beyond over the line . Why would anyone sign up for that ? The only thing left would be for some family member get injured , Is that what you desire ? I hate to ask but what line needs to be crossed before a university says " we just dont need this :poop: anymore" ?

Last time I checked UK was just a tad bit more relevant than IU . So who really needs who here ? Maybe they need new decor for their popcorn boxes and telephone book covers ( memories of their great Dec win ) Their miserable fan base ruined the series and now they are crying the blues .. well tough :poop: hoosiers , and cardinals .

If my insinuation is irrational, then so is UK not playing at IU because the fans were mean. :lol2: :lol2:

One of my Dad's best friends attended the UofL/UK game three years ago in Lexington. His kid, who was 13 or 14, was pushed down the stairs by a UK fan. Should UofL stop playing at Rupp?

Because IU is being petty with UK just like UK is being petty with IU.

 

I miss that "EDGINESS" when those two got together in Lexington and Bloomington. I also understand where Wireman is coming from as fans tend to go overboard but, no disrespect intended Wireman, that crap from idiot fans has been going on since the laced basketball and peach baskets. Like I posted, I hear 'ya and understand, I just miss the series. And to be honest, I have witnessed some UK fans going WAY overboard in my mind as well but I'll agree that verbally attacking a player's family member really should not happen.
