I tried to find a video on YouTube on the Walsh incident, but I bet YouTube has removed any reference to it since we went more PC.

Okay... So I saw an "eff Kentucky" chant, a "UK Sucks" chant and a "butthole" (PC version) chant... Not to mention, the section in all those videos is clearly the student section.

A game in an extremely hostile enviornment like Assembly Hall?

 

Or

 

A game in an extremely similar setting (maybe even the same Arena, depending on the year) that is going to give you a great mix of a crowd, with a PrimeTime feel?

 

While there are some benefits in overcoming the adversity of Assembly Hall, I struggle with someone arguing that is more beneficial than the experience of the Neutral Court game in Indy. This is one of the reasons so many of the big time programs like to play in the Showcases & Challenges at the beginning of the year. That, and money.

I completely understand your reasoning behind the neutral site games. Does it prepare them more for March? I guess you could make that argument, but if you can play in an environment like a rivals gym, you can play anywhere, so I'm not sure a neutral site game is better in that regard.

The reason they aren't playing there is because they lost.

They will not play in Bloomington as long as Cal is coaching at UK. Right now Cal is the king and Cal says no. It's good to be king.

UK isn't "scared" to play there, but to pretend that it's because of the mean fans is beyond ridiculous. Cal doesn't want to play somewhere that UK doesn't have advantage in the crowd, which is what happens in Rupp and virtually every "neutral" court. It is what it is, I guess, but it's pretty weak.

I watched one video and didn't see any attempts at a fight or people getting spit on. Can you fill us in to specifics in the videos @Wireman?

 

I went to the UK/IU games at Assembly Hall. Loved the atmosphere. Hung out at local bars before and after with all UK gear on and had no bad encounters with IU fans at all.

 

That being said...I don't like Hoosiers!!!
