I thought with Mayfield's championship experience, and CAL's lack thereof, perhaps the moment would be too big for CAL last weekend. Having cleared that hurdle, I think this would be one of the bigger upsets of the season if the Ads pull this off.

CAL does have some very nice wins.....Mayfield, Central, DeSales (2).

As a resident of Titletown I want the Ads to bring it home, but my head tells me CAL is favored.

CAL should win, but it's definitely not a "names the score" or "wins easily" game... JMO.

CAL put a lot of pressure on Mayfield QB last week with only rushing 4 most of the game. If they can do that against Danville it will make it hard for Dampier to find open receivers. If Danvilles OL can give Dampier time I believe he will have another big game. I also think Danville will have to run the ball a little more this week early in the game to slow that CAL rush down. I think Danville will do enough of that to come out on top. 28-24 Danville.

CAL is TOUGH, thats about all I can say about that team. Mayfield hasn't faced a team of that caliber this season, CAL would easily beat the teams that Mayfield struggled with. I haven't seen lines like that on any 6A team that we have played in years, the closest was DeSales last year. Typically in HS football a team will have a big D line but it will be slow, not on this CAL team, big and fast, and Mayfield's team was no slouch in the speed dept. I haven't seen Danville play but I am picking a dogfight at the very least with CAL winning it by at least 1 td or more.

Holy cross came after dampier but only got him a few times. Their offense is set up by getting the ball out of his hands to playmakers. Will be interesting to watch this unfold.

Also how well will CAL matchup with danvilles outside guys will be the biggest factor in the game IMO. I still think the ads skill players don't get enough respect.

Better game than some are probably thinking, 2A hasn't been the best class in the state from a competitive perspective for no reason. I think CAL likely wins but wouldn't be surprised if Danville did. I don't think it will be a blowout by any means for which ever team is crowned champ, good luck to both teams.

The Ads speed and multiple threats give them a fighting chance. I think the Ads are overall a little quicker than MF and CAL but this is just a video opinion. MF was quick but CAL was about the same but CAL was much bigger and stronger up front and the Wright kid made big time plays and he is going to get his you just have to get yours. MF was in some ways lucky to hang around as long as they did which this was a game still into the 4thQ but a break here or there and MF could of made a game of it though it appeared to me that the bigger stronger CAL lines wore the Cards down in the 4TH and that coupled with the risk taking MF was forced to do led to the final onslaught. That said, the ADS have faced big and physical the last 2 weeks and with their speed they have a chance. The biggie here could be turnovers, CAL is there for the first time and often first timers in the title game lay eggs though it has been a longtime for the Ads as well. I think CAL is the favorite but I wouldn't count the Ads out. good luck to both! I think I will watch this one from the comforts of the hospitality suit with the food and TV, something I never would do when the Cards were in it. If either have fans or family that don't need to be in the weather this is a purchase-able option and you can sit inside or outside.

But if the weather is bad , you'd better get to the stadium club early. Those coaches fill up the window seats in a hurry.

Danville will not go quietly, but I think we are about to see a special run from CAL

I've seen Danville and Cal in person.Cal wins the game easily by 3 or 4 scores. Cal beat a good Central team earlier 44-14. Just to much size and too much depth for Danville to contend with. That was a very good Mayfield team they beat easily last week.

CAL needs to be careful to not think last week was the title game. Danville while an underdog in this game isn't a team to overlook, they can score in bunches and have some athletes that can exploit speed as well as any team.

 

CAL I think will win, but they better come in prepared for a war "So to speak" as Danville will be ready to go.

Won't be a blowout, Danville is gonna fight hard but CAL is a great team and are gonna cap off their great run with a State Title, I'm saying 14+ point win.
