Herman to LS........errrrr Texas

Featured Replies

Multiple reports are saying Tom Herman will be the next LSU coach.

Could be leverage for a bigger UT deal.

I'll be able to cheer for the Tigers if it's Herman

It's not a better job, but it isn't exactly a worse job.

You have administrative annoyances at both.

You should be able to recruit at a high level at Texas but you do have a lot of hands in the pot there. At LSU you get first dibs on an entire state full of good players.

Texas is not that attractive of a job, IMO, because of all the extra crap you have to deal with there. It's not like they are going to out-pay everyone else in the market.

It would crack me up if he took the LSU just to see how Texas reacts. It would also be very telling if a Texas guy like Herman did not take the job...

I still think Texas is a better job, but I can't blame a guy for going to LSU. If LSU gets Herman, Nick Saban gets another pay raise.

Other than money what makes Texas better?

You and I share the same thoughts on this, even in a prior thread. Texas is Texas and is still a premier job. However IMO, if you can go out and get another high level job like LSU, it's going to turn out to be a better job than Texas. The Texas boosters seem like nutcases and they also seem to control the administration. At LSU, you do have to face Alabama every year, but lets be real, you already have a lot more talent to work with at LSU right off the rip than you do at Texas.

Nothing and I'm not even sure I would factor in the money difference due to the job security issue. If you can't keep your job, are you really going to make more money at Texas?

Didn't we have this conversation last week? I just think Texas is a better job, but it's just my opinion.

Nothing.... absolutely nothing

If we did I don't remember. But if your reason last week was the same as this week I can see why I didn't remember.
