It would be good if they produced the Focus in America as well, but that looks like it will not be happening. Anybody that expected companies that had already planned to move production to a different country was going to be fearful and stay was out of touch. November 16, 20169 yr Didn't Ford also recently announce that they are moving the production of the F650 and F750 from Mexico to somewhere in Ohio? Looks like they are going with the philosophy that the large vehicles with large profit margins will be made in the US, small vehicles with slim margins will be made in Mexico.

November 16, 20169 yr It may not be job losses, but it's not job growth either like it could be... Correct, but Trump also is not the President yet. Ford developed these plans to leave the country on Obama's term. A newly elected president isn't going to change a plan that has probably already has several millions of dollars invested in it. In the future, we will see if companies make such moves.

November 17, 20169 yr People calling him out or Ford once again calling him out? People calling him out. Two things that I think Trump knows a lot about is business and negotiations. Like others have said, he may not be able to do much with this specific factory in Mexico since millions have already been invested but Trump is setting a tone that will keep some other companies from doing the same in the future. I also agree that he will be better off using carrots (tax cuts for corporations) to incent them to keep factories/jobs in the U.S. I am just saying to give him a chance. The dude has a lot on his plate right now and people are already saying he is failing two months before he is even inaugurated.

I'm not sure what you are saying. My understanding is Ford was considering moving some operations to Mexico, but it would not have been at the expense of anyone's job in Kentucky.
