Wasn't a Hillary supporter by any stretch, but yes, PEOTUS Trump is/will be my President and as such I will support him and give him the respect of the Presidency.

As a Hillary supported and a life long democrat I always support who is the president.

I was taking to my daughter about this. I did not vote for Obama. But I always liked him and respected him. So yea, it was not difficult to get behind him and support him as my president.

However, I don't think I would have been able to support Hillary the same way as I was able to support Obama. I imagine that this is how the non-Trump supporters probably feel.

Yes, I always have supported the president, why would I hope he failed, I don't get that. The office should have respect, Never understood the anger with Obama and nonsupport and respect. It's gonna be a mess, though.

The way the last 2 presidents have been treated by the opposition has been extremely unfortunate. Sadly there was little chance we would see any improvement in that arena this year no matter who won. Hillary would have been treat the same by the Rs as Trump will likely be by the Ds.

 

Maybe we will be lucky and this will end up hitting the reset button and we can get 2 candidates in the future who aren't as polarizing.

I didn't support Hillary, but I also didn't support Trump.

 

I disagree with Hillary on a lot of policy and I don't trust her at all. She had a lot of baggage and I decided really early on that I would not vote for her.

 

I thought a Trump candidacy was a farce early on. No way he could get the nomination. No way he would be competitive on the campaign trail. I cringed every time he opened his mouth and he had his share of baggage also. Even up to the final hours, I didn't think he had a chance. I did agree with him on a lot of his platform in spite of his flaws. In the end I voted for Trump reluctantly, more accurately I voted against Hillary.

 

I saw a meme yesterday that said something like "Guys, I am really worried that somebody is going to win this election" and it resonated with me.

 

That said, I will support him as President and give him the respect the office deserves. I would have supported Hillary too, and even when I disagreed with her, I would have respected her. We are a fractured nation and we have been polarized. I want our country to see a healing of that, but I'm not confident Donald Trump will be the man to orchestrate it.
