8 points or 80 points they still got the WIN! Another case of a upset fan that can't accept a loss. Like I said in previous post, accept the loss and move one, the hardest thing for ashland fans to do. let me state my score of this game again and say Russell can win this game by as many as they want.

 

 

 

 

I'm originally from Lawrence co. but moved to Hazard. But btw I'm stateing my opinion about the game, no hard feelings in any way. But L.C. seems to be down this year but I'm pretty confident with my DAWGS year in and year out. But back to the topic, just admit the Tomcats has NO chance at all this year against Russell. You won't Prove me wrong, Kasey Clark will have his way with the WEAK defense of ashland all night. Sticking to my original prediction of Ashland- 14 Russell- As many as desired

 

 

 

 

 

 

Simply pathetic!!!! Come on, its football go out there and play. If ashland is worried about getting dirty, i would gladly wash there uniforms to watch Russell domolish them. I dont think it was cancelled because of the rain...I think its because there scardy CATS. I shall be attending this game since it was moved to saturday though, it will be quit delightful to see Clark run wild on them in person!!! NO hard feelings toward any tomcats..just simply stateing my opinion.

Great game if your'e a Tomcat fan. I felt like this was a great game for Matt Thomas, none like he's had before at Ashland. He indeed was running hard but it also seemed like alot of the times it was 4 or 5 yards or more before even the first defender would meet him. That makes it a little easier to run hard, so I do believe this is the best the O-line has looked in the last 2 or 3 years at least at running the ball.

 

I do feel that IMO Ashland dominated the the line offensively more than I thought they would and had the Cats not stumbled w/ turnovers this game wouldn't have been this close.

 

Now I was especially proud of how this team didn't quit when they were down by 2 touchdowns and continued to fight back. I do believe that the Kiwanis Bowl a few years back gave these seniors something to look back on and realize that they could win this game.

 

Anyway I'm sure Russell will bounce back and be a force again this year in the playoffs.

That was some game I hated to see either one lose! Congrats to my CATS for hanging in there an beating a really good Russell team, Im sure they will still be playing when the leaves have fallen!!! I agree completely about Thomas. He ran strong tonight and that was huge.

Fball, if I wasn't a Belfry fan I seriously would be a Russell fan. Its so sick how close our programs are in prospective.

 

I just feel like this could be the most unpredictable game yet. Sheldon Clark certainly has something to say about that, and Mercer Co. might make it for not, but deep down I don't believe that. I honestly beleive the Devils or Pirates will win it all this year.

 

I know I'm not crazy. This will be a battle to the end. It almost reminds me of "Gangs of New York" the movie. Hated rivals, who can't help but appreciate one another.

 

I won't go into the analogy anymore, but it really applies. I'm just glad to knwo its gonna exist again. I think coach Haywood is :VERY slighly above McGlone (like .2 % before you get mad). I just want to see this game happen every year for the next 10 years.

 

Devils... screw tonight. Pick yourself up, get PO'd ,and get ready to whip every team you see until you travel to Belfry. Then lets make history!

I felt like Ashland was greatly underestimated by alot of people after their season opening loss to Raceland. But they have improved and found themselves lately. This could be a lot tougher team late in the season if their improvement progresses.

According to Dicky Martin, Walters went down with an injury late in the game - any word on how he's doing, or what the injury was?

I talked to Michael, and he said he got hit in the back on the play. I think it just stung him a little. He's been dealing with bulging disc in his back all year.

Now the Cats must get ready for a Ports. West team that took a bad beating by Ashland last year.

Celebrate tonight and tomorrow and come out ready to go on Monday.

I know what you mean. I loved it when we were in the same district and got to play every year. I just really hated the bus ride down there.

 

Hopefully though, Russell will get to take that bus ride later in the season.:fire:

It sounded like the O-line looked good tonight , so it would be bad to throw another injury back in. Maybe they are growing up.

Before anyone reads too much into my last post. All I am saying is this: Russell played a very good/fundamentally sound game and lost to a tuff Ashland team. Belfry played sloppy and turned the ball over all night long and lost in OT as well.

 

This game IMO says one thing. Belfry v. Russell 06 is gonna be a BATTLE!

 

 

You can't measure games like this as indicators of how two teams will play each other in the future.
