Good morning everyone... A few more thoughts on the game. Number two for Ashland is an outstanding football player. Where was he against Raceland?? They used him as a decoy all game. This was a very exciting game and either team could have won. The best team did win although. If Russell would have won. I would have said the best team won. Football is funny. I counted 10 plays that if any one of them would have been different Russell would have won in regulation. This is what I love about football. The Refs IMO did an excellent job last night. Russell 24 also outstanding. I saw a much improved Ashland team from week one. It appears that the Head Coach has the players in the positions they need to be in. If I were Ashland #2 would handle the ball 35 times a game. He is the play maker. Now bring home the big prize Ashland.

 

Russell will be a better team because of this loss. It takes a lot of presure off. They will no longer be the #1 team in the state. They don't have to worry about that 13 game winning streak. Being 15 and 0. Some may think I'm crazy but I truely believe they will be better for this loss.

I also think the refs did a fantastic job last night. One of the better officiated games I have seen in a while. The only questionable call, and I could not see it from my angle, was the incompletion to Frazier in the 3rd OT. My son was at that end of the field and he said it was a completion. He is 11 though and I think he may have been a little biased on that one. Either way I thought the officials did an excellent job.

I didn't listen to the Russell radio broadcast last nite, but did they change announcers??? Was it for the better??

I thought it was a catch also. I'm biased although, and sometimes I see what I want to see. The ref called it no good, he was five feet away. GOOD CALL. Incomplete pass.

I sat on the Ashland side with my sister and brother in law. We were near the 30 yard line on the far endzone away from the stadium entrance. The ball clearly hit the turf before Frazier got his arms around it. I would say it was probably tough to see from the other side of the field, but the official made the correct call.

I have not read any posts so if you guys are doggin me "good for ya" Russell did not play last night and enought said. My predictions were from the heart not the brain. Se ya soon onhere about Boyd County. I am going to bed.....

They must have played.. I think I rememeber them putting up 21 points or something like that

POUND IT DOWN ASHLANDS THROAT, and when everyone in the region is at the game tomorrow, and Ashland is leaning back-fat with the gate money, and everyone is watching from Eastern Kentucky and Southern Ohio----- watch the DEVILS make the kittens wish they would have stayed in side in the nice DRY cold walls of their HOLY GRAIL OF A RELIC.

Congrats to the Tomcats and their coaching staff. It sounded like a good game. The radio announcers for the Devils are much improved over last year.

You ought to be proud of him BADCAT. He did a great job. I'd love to see him get some reps at RB though. I really think he would shine there and give some added versatility to Russell's offense. IMO it would be much harder to key on Clark if Tyler were lined up in the backfield as well.

 

 

Absolutely agree!! That would be some kind of double whamy in that backfield! WOW!!! Could the Cordle kid from Columbus handle the QB spot in Tylers Absence? If that is possible that seems to me, that would be huge! Good luck the rest of the season Devils. I'll be watching you!:thumb:

While I am impressed with Kasey Clark's athletic talents, I would think twice about putting him on the list for Mr. Football.`He was called for one unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and could have been called for another from what I saw. He was in front of the Ashland student section struttin and taunting them. Not a lot of class.

Don't be too hard on the kid. He got frustrated at himself and got the unsportsmanlike penalty. It was a lack of good judgement on his part to be sure, but he, like others, we're caught up in the emotion and amosphere of this game. I think he still merits any and all consideration for Mr. Football. Speaking of your student section, they could have seen a hankie fly too for spilling onto the field after the missed field goal.
