Talk about spin. You continue talking around the subject, infering insults all the while complementing in another breath to maintain the illusion of political correctness. You and cvillecat take everyshot you can, usually in a backhanded way, and then try to place the blame on others for provoking an arguement.

One thing that I did find amusing though was as the thread went on I kept reading references to the Ashland/Raceland game as for the reason that everyone was predicting Russell. Ashland has improved since that game and so has Raceland. A lot of Raceland mistakes were detected and corrected since then as Ashland has made improvements. Some how it seems to me that Russell fans or at least some of them are having a hard time dealing with getting beat by a team that Raceland beat. Although I do agree before anyone says it that this has little to no bearing on the two, that is just what I seem to be getting out of those type references. As for any further comments to you....I really enjoy being a member of bgp and want to stay a member so I will just leave it at that.

Their probably should have been a penalty called but Chris was jus retaliating after Clark kicked him in the facemask at the bottom of a pile. Jus what I saw out there you could see it on film too.

And if he would have let go of the leg he wouldn't have been kicked. I'm not going to make any excuses for any of it. It was a heat of the moment reaction by BOTH players. Sometimes we see what we want to see.

There is still a lot of room for improvement – but if these cats keep growing like they have so far this year; they can be very, very good.

:thumb:Nice post!! It is nice to see the lineman get some recognition for all the hard work they do. I have said all along that the Cats were not as bad as people believed, it was just a matter of new & young players learning each other and becoming one and believing in what the coaches teach. It is always great to see kids believe in their abilities and work toward their goals.

If you read carefully I said that this game scared me. I thought Russell would win but they did not. Ashland deserves all the credit in the world for how hard they played and the determination they showed last night. I knew this game would be a battle and it was.

 

As far as referencing the Raceland/Ashland game I don't believe I ever did. But you can say what you want about it.

You know I mentioned that the field was in good shape briefly. Hey GIAT what did you do take your helicopter out to dry it out? Last night could not have been more perfect. Although I would loved to see some mud fly. Great field conditions except for when Clark cut back to score a TD and slipped on a snail. That would have won the game. That snail had a Tomcat Jersey on by the way.

Actually we werent able to get the helicopter, but we did try. Considering the rain throughout the week the field looked great.

If it hadn't been for their turnovers I think Ashland could have walked away with an easy win........... Does this mean that Raceland is 8 points better than Russell? :scared: :scared:

 

 

I don't think this is true at all. Russell also shot themselves in the foot also. They had numerous opportunities to win or to put the nail in the coffin but they didn't. Congrats to Ashland and kudos to Matt Thomas. I've seen him play since he was in JFL and that was the best I've EVER seen him play. But turnovers or no turnovers, Ashland does not walk away with an easy win. How bout Clark's near interception( which would have been 7), or his long TD called back, or whatever but neither team would have an easy time pulling out the win........ OK, Now about Russell. They placed their guts out also. Yea, I would have liked to see them win but this loss could be exactly what they need, just like the Boyd loss last year. It just hurts because it came at the hands of your rival. But it pointed out somethings that we need to work on and things that need improvement to be the team they are capable of being. I'm sure the coaches and these seniors will turn this into a positive and get to work on Monday. The pressure is now off our shoulders and the boys can take a deep breath now. Recover this weekend and come out Monday and start working on the things we learned Friday. This is still a really great football team and people will only be foolish to doubt that. My dad says, any team can beat any team on any given night. That's why you line em' up and play. Nothing is guaranteed. This loss will serve as a reminder of that.

And it was in good shape today for all of the junior league football players. If this game would have been played on Friday I think today's games would not have happened.

If you knew Devilologists you would understand his post. 99% of the time he is joking or trying to stir the pot. And everyone falls for it, hook , line, and sinker. Don't take it to heart, He does it on purpose just to see what say and to get a rise out of people.........
