I agree I don't think AJ is quite ready yet, but he is going to be a good one if he continue to improve. I really liked the Power-I that Russell came out with in the 2nd half. Wills(56) and Foster(53) did a great job in the backfield, but as someone said it does limit the options as to who gets the ball. An idea Ivan could try is something he used last year and that is have an extra jersey ready for either Wills or Foster to switch into. Both have played fullback in their early years and at least it would make the defense have to watch for somebody else. Just a thought.

I agree that they are going to have to do something different. The offense is just way to one dimensional right now. But, last night was the first real test for this team and I am sure they learned from it. I am confident that the coaching staff will adjust accordingly.

I couldn't agree with you more. My son said that McDavid was talking trash all night long as well. It's typical friday night football with 2 teams going at each other , getting in each others ears, trying to get an edge. I also would like to make a comment about your earlier post #138. The snapper position is truly an underappreciated one. I could tell he was upset after the snap in regulation, but Kudos to him for coming right back and making 2 outstanding snaps in OT.

:thumb: Good post Rd, Trash talking amoung players is a part of the game, always has been no matter who is playing. As for your comment on the long snapper, you are correct. Any kid at any position wants to make good plays and be mistake free but mistakes are also a part of the game. I really don't like to hear anyone ragging on a kid. No One wants to do well more than they do or they wouldn't be playing the game.

From what I've seen, both of these young men are great athletes, fierce competitors and team leaders. If they don't get fired up and show some emotion, how can they expect their teams to? I'm sure both know what lines shouldn't be crossed and don't go there. From where I was, It looked like both teams played clean and hard on every snap. But, that's no surprise. They are both well coached.

Matt Thomas was the real deal for Ashland. He was getting sizeable yardage on each and every touch. He could have also hurt us in the flat on pass receptions, but I think he was hearing "footsteps" on a couple of those drops. Coach Hart has to be feeling good about Thomas' hard running though.

IF not mistaken several changes were made after the Raceland game Walters to center and so on.Snodgrass returning last nite sure helped, he played a fine game.

What About when number 33 for Ashland pushed Kasey Clark every body seen it but the refs. That would have kept the Russell drive going and could have possibly scored. Kasey Could have easily went off on number 33 but he kept his cool. There should have been a personal foul called on that play.:flame:

Nice avatar GIAT, but Matt Thomas ran like a man last night. Darrell made 2 plays out of fumbled snaps. Nevertheless, Ashland has looked like they have fixed their problems,and now I guess we will see if Russell can fix their problems. I think that they will fix their problems and be just fine! Good Luck to both teams the rest of the way!
