I am pretty sure maxpreps uses the calpreps rankings and I have found them to be pretty accurate. They cover the whole nation and strength of schedule is a big factor in their rankings. Not infallible of course when you cover the entire nation, but impressively accurate.

Boone County's linemen were always sloppy looking too. Haven't seen them this year though.

Ryle band was basically putting in a concert in the endzone while CovCath was in the red zone. Nothing inadvertent about it. I understand the band owns the field and lets the football team use it sometimes.

What was up with Ryle playing music from the PA speakers while SK had the ball for a few minutes in the second half?

 

What's up with SK putting the visiting teams bench in front of the stands? What's up with SK putting their cheerleaders by the visiting bench? No one from SK has any room to say anything about how their team may be distracted when they are on the road.

It was a little odd they had loud music over the PA system but it didnt affect this outcome!

Why SK would want to be by the visitors section side is beyond me. It makes all their home games like a visitor game for them. IMO they should eliminate the visitors side altogether and have the visiting team on the fan side of the field, like most other teams do.

I thought there was problem last year during the playoffs. Bad exchanges between the visiting players and the SK fans. If I remember correctly things were thrown at the players by unhappy fans. And inappropriate words were exchanged.

It doesn't impact play on the field as some have suggested.

LOL...... It was the Lafayette game and the football players started shouting things at the cheering section of SK. flipping em off and stuff. thats the only problem that i have EVER heard of at SK. I do recall a water bottle being thrown at one of the coaches that was being held back from going into the stands. but again one time incident!

It is a hindrance compared to being on the opposite side of the crowd altogether. The Lafayette game is a great example. Everyone talked about what was going on the home side, but the visitor side had some interesting disturbances as well. Besides the normal hackling, a Lafayette mom went off and threatened to hit another Lafayette parent when he tried to calm her down.

But I do agree with you that I like the set up as a fan. But for the home team it would be less distracting to be away from the crowd side distractions. A great example is Highlands, having the visitors squeezed right up against the fans. I call that smart. I don't blame them one bit taking advantage of being able to. SK could do the same but instead have their players standing right in front of the visitors fans

Both of these teams are better than X and Male. I also think either can compete with Trinity.

 

These teams were ranked 2&3 in the state for a reason. I have seen X play and both of these teams are 2 scores better than them.

 

Based on what? Last year's SK team was better than this year's SK team or this Year's Ryle team, and they still didn't get past Lafayette to even get to play any Louisville school.

 

Both teams are very good but I think both teams need to show they can even get to the Louisville Schools before saying they are better than them and can compete with them. SK will have to get past Lafayette first again. While Ryle most likely will have to beat either Cooper or Conner again in the 2nd round both who showed they could play with Ryle and then Scott County will also be there. This is all before even getting to the Semi Finals.

 

If both teams are better than St. X and Male then they should have no trouble seeing each other again in the Semi finals. However I think you will be surprised how hard it will be for them to get to the semi finals if they get there at all.

 

Our NKY Schools are definitely getting better. However as I said before you have to get there first to prove it and it was a tough path to even get to the semi finals even with no louisville Schools in the way. Our NKY teams need to show we can consistently get to the State Championship game to play those Louisville Schools before saying our schools are better than them. It eventually will happen because I think our nky 6A teams are getting better, but until we prove we can knock them off no one will believe it. It's good to believe though, and just keep working to get to that point. It will happen one day for nky teams.
