Good balance attack tonight. We left some points on the field from questionable coaching calls and some holding penalties, but at the end of the game a good win for raider nation. At times Raiders didnt know what plays to run or personal to get in the field on special teams. Trick plays that send your QB out for a pass will never end well. As we go through the playoffs, less tricks and more solid football will be needes to win. Now focus on Dixie

 

So not much has changed from July 22nd in your opinion? Still not a fan of the coaching decisions?

Not so fast. I'm not sure if you're aware of the new format or not but this year, Ryle would have to get by Scott Co. and Simon Kenton would have to get past Madison Central then Lafayette for them to have a chance at a rematch.

Ryle and Sk both have Good teams. I thought overall Ryle was much more well rounded and had more depth. I think SK had better linebackers and D linemen. Are they #2 & #3 in the state? I can't think so however my opinion is biased by Ohio football.

This game was every bit what it was built up to be. While Ryle dominated the trenches all night long SK did keep the game close with big plays by big play makers.

Coming into the game I thought Ryle was slightly better because they have a better defense. Nothing I saw in the game changed my opinion. The teams are pretty even. Simon Kenton still could have won with a few less mistakes. Mistakes were common for both teams. There were dropped passes, poor throws, missed blocks, dropped interceptions, and poor tackling by both teams. There were also nice passes, great runs, and big plays by both teams. Neither team is what I would consider a great team. However, both are better than what NKY 6A puts out most years.

 

Neither team is close to the level of Trinity, X, and Male. They're also not to the level of what Highlands was for their 8 year run. I root for all the N. Ky teams in the playoffs, but my feeling is that neither team will need to worry about practicing on Thanksgiving.

Really enjoyed this one last night. SK will have time to adjust, as will Ryle, before we see another clash.

Ryle is the only team to contain Racke this year he threw 1 td and didn't have many rushing yards.

Chisholm had 235 on 30 carries.

Sorry, but your post sounds like a parent being critical of the coaches. Certainly you didn't intend that to be your message. I thought Ryle's coaches did an outstanding job all night. Especially on the d-line late and brought the house with three down lineman that averaged about 165 lbs. This move completely took SK out of their deep ball reliance and was a game changer. As to a couple of first half time outs, I think the composure of the players to recognize mismatches and to call them speaks loudly to the solid job Ryle's staff has done in game planning. IMO Morgan and Chisolm were the two best athletes on the field. Morgans 80+ yard TD pass was a thing of intellectual and athletic brilliance. I believe it was the single play that broke SK's resurgence. As I remember, wasn't it 3rd and 17 on Ryle's own 15 or so. Morgan is immediately under pressure, has SK tackler almost nail him by ankles, tucks ball and proceeds around left side to suddenly fire the ball on a line to the WR whose defender had dropped coverage. Play of game by big time player with obvious coaching preparation. Play of game?...(no question). Play of the year?????(most probably from my vantage).

Chisolm's 235 on 30 carries was very impressive. SK's defense is obviously designed to force the run and limit the passing to a short control game. Most of us knew Chisolm would be a major factor, and he was even more so than expected.

The SK faithful had a mass exit back to White Tower with 10 minutes left, it was only a 2 score game at the time.

 

We turned around from the top of the press box, a hundred left or so. It was a sea of blue at the exit gate. Thought that was odd as they still were in the game. Two scores with the big plays these two could make downfield didn't seem like much.
