B) they are too good for a bad bowl? Really? That is great. This isn't hoops where going to a bad tourney costs you money. I'd say right now they aren't too good for anything.

This isn't hoops where going to a bad tourney costs you money. I'd say right now they aren't too good for anything. Honestly the month of practices are the single best thing about the bowl games. It's basically working the young guys and the red shirts into the system more and more to prepare for next year by putting them in a real game scenario where nothing is on the line except pride. I think every coach loves the bowl games. Nebraska is a perfect example. They were 5-7 last year but snuck into a bowl game and they wound up winning. That month of practice and winning that game is the reason they are undefeated so far this year.

I didn't think he had possession, as it looked like it was still moving, but I didn't watch the replay. The commentators were saying it should have stayed active, though I am not sure it would have mattered.

The commentators were saying it should have stayed active, though I am not sure it would have mattered. TV did not give us a good look at it. The way the ND lineman had to reach in and dig the ball out while he and the Stanford player were both on the ground makes me think it would not be overturned by replay. Even if it was, I think the game would be over because time had run out and the refs blew a whistle stopping the play.
