Those freshman are very talented and while they may lead to more wins for Boyle down the line, LC has some talent coming up themselves, should be some great football games in the future. I don't see LexCath having a Highlands like fall anytime soon.

LexCath better have some good kids coming up because Boyle is very, very good from 10th down thru 5th grade. I know last years middle school game was 54-14 in favor of Boyle and could have been 100-14. This past year it was 8-6 LexCath.

I'm asking this question out of genuine curiosity: is there a reason why Landen Bartleson doesn't play 90% of the snaps on offense? I watched my first Boyle game of the year last night on Prepspin, and he's a game-changer. He had a long run, they went right back to him after that run, but then I didn't hear a lot about him after. I would also think you would want him and Reese Smith returning kickoffs. Is he too young to carry the load? Not fully able to learn the offense? Something else?

Have to say I love seeing your boy the great chuckie getting whipped. No one is crying for Boyle I can assure all you rebel fans.

Congratulations to Coach Perry and the Knights. Mark has done a super job at Catholic and he is an outstanding coach. Boyle is on our schedule the next two years. Chuck Smith is still a great coach and the Rebels are loaded with young talent. They will be very good in the near future. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

Minor correction, LC threw 2 INTs. Both were by Reese Smith and both inside the 5 yard line.

His workload has increased over the course of the season as he has become more comfortable with the offense. The other 2 backs are quality as well so rotating the 3 keeps them fresh and they all bring a different style to the table. Remember his name and Reese Smith's as well for you will be hearing about them more as their careers progress provided they stay healthy.

I'll go ahead and say what the Rebel faithful doesn't want to but Mark Perry owns Chuck Smith right now. Game after game Perry makes the necessary adjustments to find the weaknesses in the Boyle defense and defensively Catholic finds a way to shut down the Boyle Offense.

I will go on the record that I did choose Lex Cath in the polls. I had a gut feeling and I went with it. I am surprised a little bit by the amount of score deficit but that's what happens when you don't manage the football well.

 

Catholic was the better team going in and they are the better team coming out.

 

Would I love to see a rematch in November sure. Do I think that Boyle will win ? I haven't been shown any reason why they would. You can't win when you consistently week to week turn the ball over.

Get Highlands on your schedule and see for yourself if they're down long term. And speaking of schedules, Boyle could be helped by a serious upgrade in theirs.

Boyle's opponents records heading into district are 31-18.

Lex Cath's opponents records heading into district are 32-17.

I think if Boyle wants to get back to the level they used to be, you revise the schedule. Lafayette, Danville, and Lexcath are good opponents. Collins? One or two good years you can keep that game for another 2 years and hope they get better. Lincoln, Anderson, Dunbar, complete waste of time. I know North Hardin was a bowl game and a loss. It was a quality opener for where Boyle is at right now in terms of rebuilding. Long term I'm not sure North Hardin is a team you can count on to offer quality competition. I understand you don't want to play a team that's better than you every week. But my feeling is Boyle could help themselves by playing more games that demand better execution in order to win.

Looking at the statistics, Lexcath looks to have won the game mainly due to turnovers. The stats look way closer than the score. I'll take Boyle in the rematch. Boyle is historically the better post season team of the 2.

Did anyone else at the game realize that 5 of the 6 interceptions came on the same play and LC dropped at least 3 more Interceptions on that same play it was obvious from the first couple of times that play was called LC was all over it I sat in the stands wondering why you keep calling the same play that's killed you all night long. One thing is for sure LC's defensive coordinator is ready for anything Boyle's offensive coordinator calls.
