I have seen that at times, in one game. College coaches watch these kids week after week going against high level players. Thats how you get a offer. Play against the best week after week and earn it. Not a one time shot. Dont work like that. Talk to anyone that deals with this on girls or boys side. They will tell you the same.

Agree...but how can they earn "it" if they don't get the opportunity to play against the best? How can one tell if a player is worthy of getting that opportunity or not if they don't even get an opportunity to compete for one of those spots against the players that currently hold those spots? That's the only thing I would really like to know.

Nothing is perfect. We see kids all the time that play for different teams and say man that kid is good. If they are not getting that opportunity and as a parent you know or think the kid is really good contact a college coach or a good AAU program who plays in those types of Tourneys and ask them to watch her. Colleges love getting tips.

I give up. I officially change my opinion to Igo #5. She's great right where's she at.

 

Magicfan217 was the debate champion at his grade school. Good to see he still has the talent.

Just a fyi. Our EYBL 16U team usually has no less than 100 D1 colleges on them when they play. 15U also has alot. Another one of our teams that played this year a 15U that Clephane and several other D1 kids played on drew several coaches as well. That team was as good as any 15 Eybl team also. All our teams draw a good number of coaches.

 

Just a sidenote, Clephane is another great kid and player. Tremendous upside. Great parents also.

 

AS for Igo if you really want to know her offers hydraman ask her dad. We dont publish offers nor visits. I just threw that stuff out there so everyone knew that she was a major player. Lets say this, UK and several others will take a commitment tomorrow from her if you want to read anything into that. One must have a offer to commit......:thumb:

 

Hydraman I talk to 20-50 coaches a day. I am aware of what is a offer or not. We have put a few in college so this is not my first rodeo. In case you may have forgot it here is a list and feel free to post your guys also:

Derby...

Do you know who the McDonald's All-American Committee Members are? They are all very very involved in AAU. They are all AAU people or are closely connected. Regardless of how talented these players are, they would not be picked as All-Americans without being on one of the highest travel circuits.

Last year 18 of the 24 Girls McDonald's All-American's played on the Nike Girls EYBL circuit. (Kentucky Premier had 2 of those). The other 6 were on very high level independent AAU programs. Not one player was a McDonald's All-American that did not play travel ball. Those days are over, there will never be another MCDAA that does not play AAU.

I don't know how you think this stuff works, but it is no different than the boys side. Travel basketball dominates the game, and you will not be seen if you do not play.

 

PS - Igo is rated way too low. She is much better than 5th in the region.

The easier question these days would be show me a player that plays college basketball at any level that didn't play AAU. I'm sure you can find some at the lower levels, but I know 0.
