September 30, 20169 yr Went to a lot of Purdue games during the Drew Brees days. He "got stuck" there because of a high school injury. Played with grit & determination and is a real humanitarian. Has always supported those who support him. On defense, I have enjoyed the Honey Badger at LSU and have wished him well at Arizona after making some dumb decisions as a young man.
September 30, 20169 yr My favorite non-Louisville player is actually a duo: Laurence Maroney and Marion Barber III. Somehow those two guys as a couple of running backs managed to make Minnesota football almost relevant for a couple seasons. Got yards on any defense you put in front of them. Absolute man crush for Maroney. Those guys were hammers, very similar styles, actually pretty fond of the Barbarian myself.
September 30, 20169 yr Huge fan of Edgerrin James, I can still remember sitting in the OB watching him go 39-299 vs #1 UCLA. Three years of 2,000 yards from scrimmage and another of 1,900. One of the most underrated RBs of all time. I also loved Moe Williams from UK. I can still see him trudging through the rain vs South Carolina in 1995. Crazy thing is he also had 299 yards rushing that game, 429 all purpose yards. At the time it was the SEC record and second all-time.
September 30, 20169 yr Barry Sanders, followed by 2 of my favorite Noles, Charlie Ward and Warrick Dunn.
September 30, 20169 yr Major Ogilvie (Alabama) Sonny Sixkiller (Washington) Jack Mildren (Oklahoma) Mildren was one of those triple option QB's that were prevalent in the Big 12 (or was it called the Southwest Conference) at that time. His son played QB for Centre College about 15 years ago----his name was Drew as I recall.

His son played QB for Centre College about 15 years ago----his name was Drew as I recall. OU played in the Big 8 back then. Mildred was the quintessential wishbone QB
September 30, 20169 yr Author Peter Warrick. I had such high expectations for him with the Bengals and it just never panned out like we expected him to. I really enjoyed watching him at FSU.
October 1, 20169 yr Rodger Bird Ah, the "Corbin Comet." He was the reason I was a Raider fan back in the early seventies. If I'm not mistaken, his first play as a college player was a long kickoff return for a TD.
