LSU fires Les Miles.

Not a good coach.

Agreed, some would look forward to the challenge...hot coach coming in could force Saban to move on sooner than expected. Kinda like Saban to Bama forced Urban to take a "health break" at Florida.

Some think the LSU AD is not on solid ground either.

Of the 128 FBS schools now only 28 have a coach who has completed five years.

I'm surprised it's that many.

(In order of preference)

TOM HERMAN, HEAD COACH, UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON

ART BRILES, FORMER HEAD COACH, BAYLOR UNIVERSITY

LANE KIFFIN, OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR, ALABAMA

KYLE WHITTINGHAM, HEAD COACH, UNIVERSITY OF UTAH

DAVID SHAW, HEAD COACH, STANFORD

DAVE ARANDA, DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR, LSU

Shaw isn't leaving Stanford.

Don't bring him to UK, if you can't win at LSU then you can't win at UK. Example, Bill Curry.

If he can't win with the all star recruits he had then how could he win with kind of recruits we get.

.770 win % and a Title....if that ain't winning, I don't know what is.

He has been to 11 consecutive bowl games and won a national championship. I think we would take that at Kentucky.

If you're a top coach you're going to get paid no matter where you are.

With today's climate of "win now or move on" I can see the top coaches being very selective and Bama is the main reason.

Herman should not be in any hurry. He can be very picky.

Briles needs a gig so he'll take it without question.

I'm not convinced Bobby P will automatically take it. He's got a really good thing going at UL without all of the craziness that goes with SEC ball and, to be honest, a league he can compete in annually much easier than he can in the SEC.

David Shaw should be at the top of that list if they have any sense. But he wouldn't leave Stanford. If he wouldn't leave for the NFL he won't leave for any other college job either. He loves it out in Palo Alto.

Lane Kiffin landing the LSU job would be so Lane Kiffin.

I do get a chuckle out of the relief pitcher of college football coaches, Ed Orgeron, is back at the helm. If he inspires, will he be on the short list?

Yeah and maybe he can hire Josh Pastner to be his assistant

Not surprised, lots of pressure on Miles before the season started. I questioned if Saturday's game was his last after the result.

Because UL can and will pay as much as LSU, has better facilities, and it's an easier path to get to the top through the ACC, most years.

Not to mention, the pressure from fans and boosters at Louisville would be a fraction of what it is in Baton Rouge.

Definitley a job to consider, but no real reason to go.

I'm not saying he would go or they would even give him a chance, but you're kidding yourself with the above. The talent level at lsu vs Louisville isn't that close. Petrino will never win a national title at UofL. He could win one at LsU in the next 2 years if he got a qb. Easier path to get to the final 3"4 doesn't mean you have a real chance of winning it.
