LSU fires Les Miles.

.770 win % and a Title....if that ain't winning, I don't know what is.

He has been to 11 consecutive bowl games and won a national championship. I think we would take that at Kentucky.

With the talent he's had what would you expect?

he wouldn't win 50% of the games at UK

I think LSU puts a full court press on Petrino. If he goes I am not sure Louisville misses a beat because there is a young man in Bowling Green that if he makes the move back home might end up being the best football coach UofL has ever had.

I am not even sure Petrino would go. Much easier gig where he is at now. Less pressure. Easier conference. No Saban

Just my opinion though.

It's a tough climate for a power team head coach. If they say you're on the hot seat and you shouldn't be, you actually are. I will likely pull for Miles next team. I think this could get good, love the moving pieces.

LSU might pursue Petrino, he was the second choice when Miles was hired, but I don't think he would go. Surely there is some loyality to Jurich and the program for getting him back to a major head coaching position. He makes the same money now that LSU was paying Miles with more to come for sure and his buyout at Louisville is 10 million, a hefty sum.

Tom Herman

Art Briles

Lane Kiffin

Jimbo Fisher

Kyle Whittingham

One of those 5 will be the guy.

Do you buy the rehabilitated man line? Loyalty and character would be a dramatic shift from Petrino's past. Maybe he has but it would be very out of character for him.

If they want Art Briles, why waste time? He's unemployed, hire him right now.

I'm not saying he would go or they would even give him a chance, but you're kidding yourself with the above. The talent level at lsu vs Louisville isn't that close. Petrino will never win a national title at UofL. He could win one at LsU in the next 2 years if he got a qb. Easier path to get to the final 3"4 doesn't mean you have a real chance of winning it.

Well I never said he had more talent at UofL, and I never guaranteed he would win a title. You could coach at LSU and never make the SEC championship game in your career, where as at Louisville you can play in the ACC Championship yearly if you establish your program.

And yes, if you get to the Final Four, you have a MUCH better chance at winning it than if you don't make it. :lol2: You're kidding, right?

I lean towards him or Whittingham as the guy. Think he would be an under the radar HR hire.

So you think UL has no shot to win it this year?

I could see LSU being a school that doesn't care about Briles being fired by Baylor. Don't worry about player misbehavior, ignoring sexual assaults, etc. ... just win.

There may not be a better place to recruit than LSU. Bobby P, in my opinion, could win huge there. If I were the AD I would be all over him. Not sure if he leaves UL though.

A true statement of your football team being good is your coach being named with every big opening. Comes with the territory.
