#1 in 3A is......

With Belfry losing a game uncharacteristically making mistakes (Turnover after Turnover) and losing to one of the Best in Tennessee 45 to 20 in Knoxville. Added to Corbin losing a hard fought game (in which they were dominated in the first half) against one of the best programs in Kentucky 35-34, in which they made a valiant comeback.

Which "Loss" was more impressive?

Does anyone now think Corbin should be #1 in 3A?

Is Belfry still the King of 3A until a 3A school can beat them?

All I know for sure, is that playoff game could be one for the ages.

I love the Mayfield program and think very highly of their team.... but Catholic would have beat them by 40+

Now if Belfry lays an egg next week against a good, but not nearly as good as last year, Cabell Midland team then we can start second guessing

Absolutely

Mayfield would have no advantage at any position in that game unfortunately and Catholic would score every time they touched the ball.

Speaking from solely a talent perspective they are the most talented team in Kentucky or Tennessee. Where Catholic would get beat by Trinity, Male, Brentwood, MBA, etc is in the depth department. Catholic isn't an extremely deep team... but against Mayfield that one weakness would not matter as Mayfield isn't even as deep as Catholic.

Don't forget this is a team with 8 Future D-1 players, 2 All-Americans, one of the best WR's in the country, and with over 12 players who will be playing on Saturday's in some capacity.

Just like Belfry would get boat raced stepping up in class against trinity... the same would happen to Mayfield against Catholic

Just a little history for ya..Last time mayfield was beaten by 40 or more points was in 1947 against paducah in which mayfield lost 54-6in the regular season final before going on to win the wkc championship

When was the last time Mayfield played a team with 8 D-1 players and two All-Americans?
