Bama will be held higher than anyone else until said team beats them, and I'm okay with that. They've earned that respect.

 

That being said, there have been plenty of years Louisville was good and I wanted no part of Bama. This year, I'm fully confident they could compete.

 

WKU gave a blueprint to beat them but WKU doesn't have the offensive firepower to beat Bama. Bama couldn't run at all against WKU. Make them throw the ball. UL has proven their defense is above average and as I said earlier, if Ole Miss put up 43 on them......

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Bama lost a game or two before December.

I'll add Ole Miss always plays Bama way tougher than they should. They gave up 43 last year to them too.

Why does anyone think UL isn't the best team in the country and why do folks think Bama is better than UL? Seriously. They barely beat Ole Miss. Bama ain't scaring anyone anymore. I think UL is the best team in college football followed by Ohio State. I ain't hearing this Bama #1 stuff when they have yet to play at the level that UL is playing at. They gave up 43 points to Ole Miss. How much you think UL will put on them.

With their freshman QB and OL struggles they are going to struggle against every good team they play this year, at least for a while. We'll see how they are at the end of the year. My first place vote would go to UL at this point. If they happen to meet Bama in the playoffs I would expect a game similar to the Clemson vs Bama NC game last year.

They've not impressed me nearly as much as UL has. Hell, FSU beat Ole Miss better than Bama did. Freshman QB for Bama too? Ehhhh......I'll take Lamar's squad.

Smells like a "closer than the experts think" game to me. Especially with Clemson looming the week after.

 

There's no doubt that this is a classic case of the possible "Let-down, look-ahead" sandwich game. Coming off the high of the FSU game and awaiting what will be the insane spectacle of a high-profile night game in Death Valley, it'd be easy for the defense to lose concentration.

 

A shootout wouldn't completely shock me.

 

I'll definitely say that I agree with those who feel less threatened by the Marshall game than I did a week ago given what they let Akron do to them. But they also could have played far from their best... While this week is the look-ahead game for Louisville, Akron was the look-ahead game for Marshall. I don't expect them to be so sloppy this Saturday.

As a lifelong UK fan in pains me to say this, but U of L is just plain fun to watch as a college football fan. I will be interested in watching them progress this year. I have always thought Petrino was one of if not the best play caller in college football, and now that he has his horses, it's scary!

Questions for the Bama apologists: are you sold on Jalen Hurts? He hasn't looked good since the USC game to me. Then obviously Bo Scarborough looks awful and has lost his job to Damien Harris. But are you sold on Harris? He is good, but compared to the RB's Saban has had at Bama he is below average so far. Henry, Richardson, Ingram, Lacy, and Yeldon were all leaps and bounds ahead of where Harris is right now. He doesn't appear to be the grind it out type of back where they can hand it to him 40 times. Just my observations.

If the defense even halfway shows up, this is over by halftime. Marshall may not keep them from scoring all night.

 

Louisville's starters will sit much of the 2nd Half.
