Questions for the Bama apologists: are you sold on Jalen Hurts? He hasn't looked good since the USC game to me. Then obviously Bo Scarborough looks awful and has lost his job to Damien Harris. But are you sold on Harris? He is good, but compared to the RB's Saban has had at Bama he is below average so far. Henry, Richardson, Ingram, Lacy, and Yeldon were all leaps and bounds ahead of where Harris is right now. He doesn't appear to be the grind it out type of back where they can hand it to him 40 times. Just my observations.

 

True and true Bama fans are not sold on Hurts. We don't have any Roll Tide hardcore fans on BGP. If we did they would speak on their concern with Hurts. I hear it all of the time.

 

I love seeing Harris as the starter at Bama and I hope he never loses the job until he leaves. That being said you are spot on.

If the defense even halfway shows up, this is over by halftime. Marshall may not keep them from scoring all night.

Yeah on BGP we have a bunch of Kentucky fans who foolishly believe the fact that Bama has been good somehow makes Kentuckys ineptitude look better. I want Harris to do well at Bama too, and he has looked good so far. But Bama has rode great running backs to championships and I'm don't think he will be able to carry them the way Henry and Ingram did. That's why if I was Bama I would be really worried about Jalen Hurts. He needs to play better than he did against WKU and Ole Miss otherwise they might be in trouble. They were able to ride Henry all the way until the final game last year until Coker figured it out, they don't have that luxury this year and I think even Saban knows it.

I would agree. They have been asking a true freshman QB to do a lot especially with an offense that in years past hasn't asked their QB to do much. lmo they are either scared Harris can't handle the load or they feel Hurts can carry them in a way no Bama QB has except maybe McCarron. I tend to lean towards the former.

Like AJG, I like the fluidity of the polls this early in the season. I am fine with UL anywhere from 1-3 based upon who else they are up there with and where they started.
