I think the problem is that Johnson actually performed on the field and Barker hasn't.

 

The Florida game was horrendous. The Southern Miss game he played well.

So Barker was taken to the hospital with a knee injury. Was he getting sacked when this happened or on a run?

UK is not good, but they seem to be a better with Barker not running the game. Last night's game was a primary example.

Whether you like Drew Barker or not, if that was his last chance at starting at UK then I feel very sad for him. He has busted his butt since Jr High to get to where he is today. It was always his dream and he worked hard at it for years. While he was in HS he would always workout before school everyday and again after school all year long to perfect his craft.

 

I feel bad for anyone that puts in all the work needed to fulfill their dreams and then finally after waiting in line for 3 years see it come to an abrupt end due to either injury or playing ability. I really feel bad for him if that was his one chance.

I don't know what Johnson did to get to this point. I personally know what Drew did.

You have to go with the players who produce. Johnson played well and produced a win. He deserves the spot for now

Johnson has to be the man injury or no injury to Barker at least until he loses the job.

 

It's still amazing to me how bad we are in Stoops' 4th year. The depth on this team resembles his first year.

Johnson definitely fits the Eddie Gran Offense much better than Barker. For once it looked as if Stoops got out of the way and let them actually run the Offense. The run, pass option stuff was clicking. RB Snell Jr. is one helluva player too.

Can not agree. After that southern Mississippi game everyone was high on Barker because he looked very good that game. Florida he was down right awful. This game we have no idea he would have done if he played all game.

 

People need to realize that Johnson played great, but now teams will prepare for his style. So I agree Johnson deserves to get the next start, to say the offense is better under him after one game is wrong. Especially when it was against a team even Vegas thought UK would win easily against. We will know more about Johnson and he he is the next few games. Teams now can prepare for him and his style. He definitely deserves to start next game though.

I want UK to start the guy who gives them their best chance. Right now Johnson deserves the next chance to start. However for people acting like a game against a team that even Vegas thought UK would win by 20 showed how much better Johnson is for this offense needs to realize that. We have no idea how Barker would have done. Right now everyone still has the Florida game in their memory of Barker because that is the last game he truly played. So it's easy to say yeah Johnson is better for this offense. Johnson looked very bad against Florida's defense too until Florida's second string came in.

 

It was just 2 weeks ago when everyone was high on Barker. Things change quickly once you play better teams. Johnson does deserve to start though the next game, and if he truly does keep doing well then that's great for uk though.
